I've danced to Narco 3 times in the past two weeks on the WDF with Xbox Kinect, and each time I've encountered the same problem.
I hear the song start before I see the picture, and when the picture finally shows, scored moves are already in progress. (I had already been dancing on the WDF when it happened, and everything had been fine previously and afterward.)
The first time it happened, I was totally unprepared. By the time I got into position, I had begun with a couple of X's.
The second time, I had remembered what the early moves look like, and I had started doing them before the picture appeared. By some miracle, I was in sync at the beginning and hit an amazing score in the 13000's.
Tonight was somewhere in between. I was a little off, guessing when it was going to start and I took a couple of Good's trying to catch up, and so I barely got into the 13000's.
This is the only dance that's starting early for me. When I dance to Narco off the dance floor, it's fine. I have plenty of time to get into position, and the scored moves don't start right away.
On the dance floor, however, Narco starts too early and scored moves are already in progress once the screen appears.
This happened to me last year on Rockabye. Until I mentioned it here in this forum, and for several weeks (though not permanently) Rockabye magically started to work right.
If you could adjust this, that would be amazing. Thank you.
(By the way, a couple of the star counts on the scrolling messages that appear when you first visit the WDF area have totally impossible star counts. I know you've put through updates for at least 3 platforms, which is wonderful, and after you put through the final update it would really help to restore confidence in the WDF working properly if you could fix those star count problems.)
I think all dances on Xbox suffers this problem (they start a little early), and that's not a new problem (on JD2017 it used to be way worse) but most songs take a while to start so it's not as noticeable as in songs that start early like Narco. Would be good for they to rethink the way they sync the dances on WDF so we wouldn't face this problem (or, in the worst case scenario, if they could keep this problem in mind while editing/recording the maps so no map will have a scoring move before the first 3 or 4 seconds of the song)
(Or even longer.)if they could keep this problem in mind while editing/recording the maps so no map will have a scoring move before the first 3 or 4 seconds of the song
That would be great. It would help solve a few problems for me:
(1) Enough time for all dances to appear before scored moves begin.
(2) Enough time to select a dancer with Kinect or the PS4 camera in dances of trios or quartets. With Ddu-du Ddd-du (probably misspelled), for example, I like to choose P4. I have to stand way to the right of my room to select the dancer, but I like to move back towards the middle of the room once my dancer is selected. There isn't much time to get into position before scored moves begin. If I leave too soon, the game gets confused and thinks I changed my mind and picked dancer 3. If I wait too long, I mess up the first move trying to race into position.
(3) You wouldn't miss as much if you happen to start a dance a few seconds late. Once, I was disconnected from the WDF at the end of the previous song, and by the time I returned to the WDF I had missed the first few seconds of the next dance, getting a few X's. If scored moves didn't start as early, I wouldn't have missed as much.
It happened to me with Xbox One S. Today it happend with Finesse Extreme. (What's funny is that Narco lost to this song in a song vote, but I still missed the first few seconds.)Do you happen to have any clips demonstrating this at all? I assume this is XB1, correct?
I don't have any video captures or video clips. If I make one, I'll come back here and add a link to it. Though the last time I used Xbox's video capture tool, it kicked me off the dance floor. I suppose I could make my own video, but I usually don't have my phone handy and haven't yet setup a camera in my room.
Which brings me to a new question. What's the best way to go about recording videos that I don't want to stream. I see that there is a way to stream gameplays, but I don't want to stream it. It would be handy if the game would capture the full video of the dance (not the Autodance), keep it private so that nobody else sees it, and let me review it later.
Just Dance 2017 effectively offered this through the video challenges. I'm not asking for video challenges to come back. But after I dance to a song (not on the WDF, and not during a playlist or sweat mode, but just when I pick dances one by one), it sure would be convenient to watch the full video of the dance (just like JD 2017 used to do after a video challenge). I guess I could setup my own camera, but it sure was convenient in 2017 that I didn't have to setup a camera in my room. (If there is a way to use Xbox to do this currently without livestreaming it, that would be handy to know.) (Of course there are two separate issues here. I know that you asked about streaming the coach/map that I see on the screen to see what the delay looked like, but I started asking about the best way to save a video of me dancing...)
