If you have a fast attacking weapon as your main then a slow weapon on your offhand you can land the finisher move of the off hand weapon. Say i have a dagger equipped and if you press r1, r1 then switch to your offhand heavy blunt then press r1 or r2 it immediately performs the hammer's finishing move which deals a lot of damage. Heavy blunts are good for this as it only takes them 3 button pressen to land a finisher.

Well, if pausing the game mid-fight just to swap weapons is your thing, go for it.
For me it kills the momentum. Have fun though

I think you misunderstood me. You can immediately perform the finisher of a heavy melee weapon by swapping weapons mid fight. Sorry for my english as it's not really my first language. I could post a video later to show what I'm talking about.
