The title says it all. I think horses would work ONLY in the open world (not pvp, dark zone, or missions).
Why add horses?
- They were in the cinematic trailer.
- A great addition for mobility and exploration without auto running/fast traveling to the closest spot we can to do an activity or something.
- Another thing to 'level up' cosmetic and maybe armor wise?
- Collectibles for our horses to show off to our group/friends.
- For not having horses in missions, maybe have some parts of a future mission/raid that requires us to use our horse.
* Overall the world of Division 2 is beautiful and I think on a horse it would look even better![]()
And pet doggos as attack doges and heal doges, could be added as a skill. Doge could be "trained" by selecting which skill to use, and could be used as a DoT doge as well as immobilization of enemies, doing damage over time while holding the enemy in place or on the ground. The heal ability, the doggo could be sent to allies to rez them or repair armor. The difference with this skill is that the dougue is always with you, and only his abilities have cooldowns. Doggo does not disappear after a period of time like other skills. Make it so we can go out and find a dogus maximus on the street and keep him or her, name them, etc.
I mentioned horses and doges in another post already. Really not sure that's something they would do. Moving too fast through the world might cause lag issues, as it is open-world, but also has transitions between servers, and moving too quickly through these might make them noticeable, as in freezing or teleporting short distances when moving quickly through a transition. But I still don't see how they didn't jump on the chance to add pet attack dogs and support dogs to the game. They already have the models for them. Why not? *shrug*
One solution for moving through the gameworld without seeing the negative effects of transitioning servers/zones too quickly would be to allow you to move quickly on horseback while in a specific server, but a short distance before and after changing city zones, force the horse to slow to a trot until the server transition is cleared. That is, if transitioning too quickly through zones would even be an issue. Might not be.
Yep. Screwed. Unless enemies were also on horses and riding a horse gave you extra armor, and have horse mods that give a few seconds of even more extra armor while dismounting, like some guns or gear do while you're in cover or reloading. Make it so elites ride horses and shoot LMG's from armored horseback. Would be sick af.
And if we're going to have horses, then I want dirt bikes and quads. And rollerblades.
