Even in Division 1 there were problems for traversing the ingame menus (sorting weapons, selling them, etc) if you tend not to play with WASD command scheme, but your own binding preference.
For example, I play on ESDF, and use V for "use". That mostly works fine...
Before the update, I would use F to mod weapons, and V to mark them as junk. But now! V is used for both. So if I want to mark something as junk, I have to mod it as well. (or use the mouse until this is fixed)
Oh, and the game crashed as soon I talked to Manny after advancing to WT5, but hey, that must have had nothing to do with the update.![]()
Similarly, I remap Interact to E. What this means is in the Inventory, E is mapped to Mod as well as Page Right. If I press E it'll actually switch to the Materials page. What's even stranger is on this page there are no longer the button prompts (Q and E) for switching pages back to inventory or stats.
Hopefully we'll be able to bind the UI buttons separately at some stage.
I came here to post this but found this topic. I have E mapped to interact as well and before the patch today it was fine in the menus but now that it carries over to the inventory menu I have to right click -> mod items and when I need to move things from my inventory to my stash... I have to go back every single time before E forces me over to the Stash menu as well as to move the item over. Hopefully this gets resolved ASAP.Originally Posted by piercehead Go to original post
I'm not asking this to bait or troll, but honestly curious, why do some people prefer to use ESDF instead of WASD? What's the benefit of doing this? The only thing I can see with this is an unending slew of issues. It pulls your hand away from the shift and control keys, which are general use keys in almost any PC game. It also goes against just about every other general key usage, such as the many issues you're facing here, like using F as the activate key or E and Q for action or skill keys. But I can't for the life of me think of any reason as to why anyone would need or even prefer to do this unless they have very short arms with large hands or something. *shrug*
Maybe there are just benefits that I'm not seeing.. ?
Because when most people type... the F and J keys have notches so you don't have to look down to see where your hand is... we we just naturally prefer to play that way instead of shifting everything to the left using WASD. and we use the same set up as you, just shift everything over one key to the right.Originally Posted by alphamachina Go to original post
