So to upgrade it to 500 GS I need a chatterbox 250 score....Do I need another recipe?

I waited to make the chatterbox and it looks like the best I can make is 490. Is this the case?

250 is the minimum score, you can upgrade your current Chatterbox.

how do you upgrade exotics?

you need exotic components (not the pieces, the material is literally called exotic components) and from all ive found it seems the only way I've heard is breaking down exotics you have for 2 components.

I am really not wanting to test this though, and it seems like a really bad system to go about.

I crushed a Liberty and got 2 exotic components then used those with a 440 Chatterbox and some regular materials to craft a 500 Chatterbox.

How do you guys feel the exotics compare to the average weapons you find? How do they compare to Exotics from The Division? All I've really seen is how rough they are to get, not always how they perform.

They lack any real reward after busting your a$$ to get them. They should have one, additional, unique item on them that the other weapons don't/can't have (not just cosmetic either). After a couple upgrades, I find them useless. IMO.

imo the chatterbox wasnt too bad to get (excluding the glitches of hyena caches being empty and all that), and the effects are useful. I can't speak to the other ones as I don't have them though. My only thing is going through all of this just to have to then destroy them and get them all over again just to upgrade them? there needs to be a different way to upgrade exotics besides grinding up other exotics.

So you can upgrade a chatterbox from 400 to 500 but crafting one from scratch only gets you 490? Huh?

I dismantled my chatterbox to upgrade it now I cant do I got ro farm all the keys and parts again to make new one?
