    Looks like those EMP tower blowing. Remember that those fractions fight between them too.

    Sometimes I see a lot of fight without my divine intervention. I just watch them kill each other lol

    Were that the case OP's character would not have reacted the way he did. The reaction was the same as being blinded and the lighting and high pitched tone was the same as when hit with those thrice damned lazors. No doubt this came from the tussle OP was avoiding behind him, which would also explain why he didn't see said laser.

    Look closely, there was no enemy on this sight. Enemies was fighting on my left. Not on my right.
