Can we consider a future new faction, an ottoman one (arabian inspired) or did devs already closed the door to any kind of future major content addition ?
If they did close the door then this is a shame, for there are lots of famous warriors to add to the game :
- mamluk warrior (tank)
- berber pirate (hybrid)
- hashashin sect member (assassin)
- janissary (warden)
I don't really understand this rather ambiguous comment : first I'm not turkish but what would it be if I was ? I think western as northern europe players, japanese players and now chinese players have been quite pleased (including me) with the current content, why not pleasing middle east as african players ? Looks like racism to me...Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
Bytheway there's not much more great empire to add in the game for more famous medieval fighters who wouldn't look like close enough to the current characters. Also I think an arabian faction would be a great addition to the game.
The ottoman empire as you should know lasted for 600+ years, so more than the western roman empire, while having ruled the border of the mediterranean sea the same and have defined the current northern african countries as middle eastern ones.Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
You can be sure there are many more people who knows about the ottoman empire, turkish people aside![]()
When they besieged Prague I believe it took the largest cavalry charge in human history by these guys to stop them https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_hussars - definitely heard of them. EDIT: plus its one of the largest empires in human history (that once led the world in maths, medicine etc.) who were the ones that actuallly finished off the Roman Empire (fall of Constantinople)Originally Posted by AmonDarkGod Go to original post
I'm not sure you can get a whole roster out of them though, hashashin predate the ottomans & Janisarry's were the main professional warriors, big fans of citizen levy armies to flesh out the numbers I believe (then again they managed that for knights without actually going near any of the average soldiers so...). Edit: I dont mean ther weren't alot of them, just many of their iconic units involve firearms (like the multi barrel cannons & jezails) - that said a blackpowder armed 1 shot kill hero wouldnt be the most broken at release we have ever had
If Ubi would just copy/paste & update a few of the Janissary assets skins from AC series & update them we could have some sweet looking reskin/kits for existing knight roster
the factions of this game is - to my understanding - not about inclusion, so drop your "racism" ********. this game took the most iconic warriors and put them all in one game so we could play as and against them. vikings, samurais, knights - pretty damn iconic.
the ottoman isn't as wellknown unless you're really into history or movies about said people. but that could be said about the chinese faction currently in the game too so i guess they've changed their stance on this.
i would hate to see them include factions based on pandering. and also, so far For Honor has done a good job staying out of organized religion other than the knight faction. it's probably best if it stays that way.
The most ridiculous idea I have ever read in this forum. We're playing with FACTIONS not empires.
Definition of FACTION: A group within a larger group, especially one with slightly different ideas from the main group.
Definition of Empire: An extensive group of states or countries ruled over by a single monarch, an oligarchy, or a sovereign state.
@sweaty_sock
No faction is historically accurate, for example if you look at knights the peace keeper looks like early middle age killer, the warden could be a crusader knight while the lawbringer is definitely a end of middle age knight considering the armour.
Because Japan as China were no empire in middle age time indeed... you do look like an idiot, you're aware of it, aren't you ?Originally Posted by RASUKAY Go to original post
This is a very west atlantic side poorly educated oriented point of view, ottoman empire is well known in western Europe and for good reasons I've already mentionned. Also I have no idea what you're on about religion, you're the very only one to bring that quite clumsily actually in the discussion.Originally Posted by pimmas01 Go to original post
No, mate I do not look like a idiot at the discussion. Point of view as a group of mercenaries or elite units like Samurais, Gladiators, Centurions, and etc. and remember... The ottomans and you can eat lollipops all day, every day... LOLOriginally Posted by Grivois_Gaulois Go to original post
Tell me you're smarter to get that, please... (You know, after your "educated" reply.)
Note: I can provide organic material!
@rasukay
As expected, that was not too hard to add you in my ignore list.
I'm not turning this into anything else but facts, in western Europe we all learn about the Ottoman empire in history, with which France were allied for like more than a century against the habsburg. There are movies including the Ottoman empire like "The adventures of baron Munchausen", "The ottoman lieutenant" or tv shows like "Da Vinci's demons" as many others.Originally Posted by pimmas01 Go to original post
Like I already stated, you can not ignore a 600+ time empire which has influenced western Europe, northern Africa as middle east regions of the world. Also the wu lin faction as classes are not famous at all, I'm pretty sure you as many others did not even know about their weapons before the movie "Crouching tiger, hidden dragon" as when SMITE introduced the most iconic character/classes for chinese people.
Also aside from history you'd pretend assassin (which name comes from the hashashin sect bytheway) is not a popular concept especially in gaming ? Berber roughly invented the concept of piracy (sinbad the sailor anyone ?) bytheway...
And what about the arabian nights tales : are they not wellknown ?
All the negative comments here are highly hypocritical as are based on nothing but a very curious bad feeling about an arabian faction, as if the devs couldn't flesh out an awesome one and even though the Ottoman empire, or more likely something inspired by it, would perfectly fit into the game.
