    No worries bud,

The problem in my eyes is because the main campaign has been so fleshed out now if the Dz's were the same as TD1 it wouldn't have the same impact as the first game. With it being split into 3 the whole continuity seems lost; TD1's Dz told it's own story the further north a player ventured etc.

I really enjoyed Survival mode, not implying the Dz should be the same but it did offer a unique experience compared the rest of Td1's content. So whatever is done with the Dark Zone's it needs to offer something unique.

I'm mostly pve myself and loved the dz in div1.
Don't get me wrong I love the work they did for the LZ in div2 but I'm disappointed with what they've done to the DZ's so far.

It feels diminished or even worse pushed to an extreme with the occupied dz.

I personally was a fan of the dz in div1 with the friendly fire and the loot mattered. But I'm a believer of the risk to reward system.
A big DZ like Div1 in the middle would have been better with heavily guarded gates. I don't really like the idea of having 3 small DZs.

Might already been pointed out, but for me, I haven't touched DZ because there's no incitement to go there. If I want to get the highest (possible right now 450) I'll just take CPs, do missions and other stuff, WHICH IS FINE. I really like the PVE aspect but DZ needs to change, it needs to be more rewarding.

BUT this is what I would change:
Make DZ drop the highest end gear equivalent of what would drop in heroic stronghold and raids. If the max GS (after Fridays patch) will be 500, make DZ drop that quality of gear.
This would make the risk / reward worth it since most gear that drops in DZ isn't even contaminated so being ganked and killed would'nt have that much of a negative impact of the loot run as a DZ with only contaminated gear drops. If a LW M4 drops with a high GS, you might risk the extraction.

Sorry what? Wandering around with your 3 buddies and killing a few stragglers should reward you with the same gear that a
HEROIC Stronghold will give you? Which is in most cases an hourlong tense mission that'll put you back to the entrance
without loot for a single death?

Yeah, nah. Maybe 'Challenging'. But difficulty-wise I'd place the DZ as a 4-squad into "story-mode" difficulty, "hard" as a duo and "challenging" alone.

    Firmly agree w/ You!

The only reason they even went to the DZ in D1 was because for quite a while after release it was the only place to get the best items in the game. Fortunately that is not the case in D2, but I have a sneaking suspicion that is going to change. It is not a surprise to me that the DZ is dead (according to people who go there) because there is no need to go. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that obviously most people do not want to participate in being ganked and losing loot they earned as part of their gaming experience. The only way the DZ should have existed in D2 is as a more difficult PvE area for people to randomly bump into each other and help with landmarks and killing NPCs. PvP should occur in conflict where all players are there to kill each other.

I understand this is a bold idea but you can't deny the facts. People do not want to go into the DZ. *Most* people. I suggested having 2 of the 3 DZ areas as open world PvE, basically exactly as they are now. Leave the third zone as the occupied DZ for all the people who still want a PvPvE area and let them have at it. Why leave the zones empty when they could be used for players to enjoy the activities there without being griefed? The occupied DZ can still rotate and everyone wins.
You took the words right out of my mouth brother!. Well said.

I wrote a post (that nobody seems to have read) that suggests how the DZ can be PvE but still 'Dark". You make it a more difficult zone. As it is still multiplayer it gives incentives for agents to work together to clear PvE content. It's more dangerous so still intense and instead of griefing fellow players you HELP them, which is what I believe the game should be about. We have enough bad guys in the game and we don't need other players trying to ruin our experience. I have seen several posts on here where people openly admit they are out to screw over other players because it makes them feel good. Not something I ever want to be a part of.

I've sacrificed my guy so a player I never met and never saw again could extract there gear.
Just because you don't like the truth don't you dare try to slander me.
This just shows you never understood what the dz was from the get go.
I understand perfectly what the DZ is and was meant to be. It was put in so that streamers or kids without lives can be absolute asshats to other players and make sure they don't get the best gear or have fun in the game. It was put in so people could play the "bad guy" against other live players. You claim you were essentially "one of the good ones" and helped people who were getting ganked in the DZ in D1. Grats, you were the only one and no one I ever met.
The DZ was a mess, everything from accidentally going rogue to people throwing themselves in front of your bullets to force you to go rogue, it was a f*cking nightmare, and there were absolutely no consequences for people who wanted to play as "bad guys" and got their rocks off making sure others didn't have fun.
