    DZ Devalued?

So what dose the Dz offer us now?

We get supply drops in the lz and loot respawns so you can visit the same areas like the control points to reloot so they are basically landmarks.

The dz has noncontaminated loot so extractions are pointless now when you can get loot sent straight to your inventory.

No special loot practical of fashionable is in the dz.

There are no events in the dz that aren't in the lz.

There are even pvp arenas now for those that want to fight other players that are also looking for a fight Removing tension in the dz.

So what's the dz for now?

I am sure people will argue but a very large percentage of the playerbase are PvE players. The only reason they even went to the DZ in D1 was because for quite a while after release it was the only place to get the best items in the game. Fortunately that is not the case in D2, but I have a sneaking suspicion that is going to change. It is not a surprise to me that the DZ is dead (according to people who go there) because there is no need to go. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that obviously most people do not want to participate in being ganked and losing loot they earned as part of their gaming experience. The only way the DZ should have existed in D2 is as a more difficult PvE area for people to randomly bump into each other and help with landmarks and killing NPCs. PvP should occur in conflict where all players are there to kill each other.

I understand this is a bold idea but you can't deny the facts. People do not want to go into the DZ. *Most* people. I suggested having 2 of the 3 DZ areas as open world PvE, basically exactly as they are now. Leave the third zone as the occupied DZ for all the people who still want a PvPvE area and let them have at it. Why leave the zones empty when they could be used for players to enjoy the activities there without being griefed? The occupied DZ can still rotate and everyone wins.

Can't really agree with that one personally strangetamer007
I'm mostly pve myself and loved the dz in div1.
Don't get me wrong I love the work they did for the LZ in div2 but I'm disappointed with what they've done to the DZ's so far.

It feels diminished or even worse pushed to an extreme with the occupied dz.

I personally was a fan of the dz in div1 with the friendly fire and the loot mattered. But I'm a believer of the risk to reward system.

Sometimes my wife wants to make a special kind of cookie for a kids party... some kind of unique cookie... and she hates it when I suggest she make chocolate chip cookies. She says that’s boring. But I always guarantee the chocolate chip cookies will be the first ones gone.

I get that ubi is trying something special with the dz, but I wish they would just do the PVE DZ for the clear win. Yep, the boring, easy PVE DZ that would most likely be the most popular dz ever.

    Yup, I could see that.
IF you want to have DZ-Exclusive drops and gear, you'll need a PvE-DZ with the same loot-table.
So people who do NOT want to be part of the gankfest can STILL acquire the same loot, but in a "loose" Co-Op fashion.
Should result in a win for everybody.

Edit. Dangit now i want chocolate chip cookies. Care to ask your wife for me?

High risk - high reward. That's the DZ lore. Stop that **** about PvE only DZ...

There are plenty who would rather have peanut butter or white macadamia.

I'm not asking if there should be a better pvp dz or pve only dz I'm asking if theres a point at all now as every element that made the dz worth anything is now outside of it.
And should it be removed or have steps taken to make it interesting to explore and play.

Please leave the pvp verse pve stuff out of this thread there are enough of those.

Exclusive rewards, but the base of it should be obtainable in LZ, but less easier or less effective.
Also, cosmetics. Especially, i want to see exclusive skins or vfx for skills. Like SHD and Rogue ones (reward for manhunts or working for the Thief's den)
