Agree with this. I played today after a hiatus and crashed again. For some reason joining groups makes the game worse and gives constant 100% CPU usage.Originally Posted by Turis8 Go to original post
Hey SuspiciousPixel, I've been testing a lot and Hyper-threading can cause some big issues with different processors so if you have it on your CPU turn it off in BIOS and see if it solves the issue with TD2... just beware it can cause big issues with other games tho
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper-threading
Now after the latest patch (title update 3) it's even worse.
First the game froze for almost a minute right at the middle of my first battle (causing death). I restarted the game and it froze completely right after initiating my first battle (again). Third time after restart and I got disconnected from the services like a minute or so after existing the safe zone respawn point.
This game is a total mess.
Always start TD2 after a clean boot
uPlay overlay disabled
uPlay minimized in taskbar
If you play KB/Mouse (not my case, I play with an XBOX Ctrl):
TheDivision2.exe should run on "low" priority (you cannot change TheDivision2.exe priority because of EAC, but if you change to "low" the priority of the uPlay processes before launching the game, TheDivision2.exe will start on "low").
If you had any crash/freeze/stutter in a session, before launching the game next time, do this:
Empty: Documents\my games\Tom Clancy's The Division 2\ShaderCache
Empty: Documents\my games\Tom Clancy's The Division 2\ShaderByteCode
ISLC running - Avoid stutters (for sure) and maybe some crashes due to Windows bad memory management.
-No app opened when playing, just uPlay and ISLC minimized in the taskbar.
-Keep background apps and process to a bare minimum... AfterBurner, RivaTuner, CoreTemp, etc... basically any monitoring or management (Mobo/fans/Kb/mouse/RGB...) software could possibly cause issues... (CTD, fps drops, freezes, stutters).
-You can also try to reduce your RAM frequency to 2133 or 2400.
-You can also try to remove any OC from your GPU.
^ The fact that we HAVE to do any amount of workaround to get the game working is laughable; except it doesn't make me laugh. It makes me sad that $60+ games get launched in this kind of state.
My game is still mostly unplayable, what good is having 8 man RAIDS when 2-3 of those players will be disconnecting due to game engine failure.
Massive programmers, please fix your game! It needs optimization, not chicken**** PVE balancing nerfs so your PVP numbers work.
for shame.
That doesn't work for me, makes the game worse.Originally Posted by Lens00140 Go to original post
But I still crash to desktop in the TU3 update.
Guess I won't be raiding then.
Additionally Ubisoft when your own Studios equipment has game crashes you should really stop asking us to try bizarre things. You guys have high end PC's. We've pointed to high cpu usage, memory leaks and EAC being possible culprits whilst we have tried to work together fixing the issue we've been ignored.

At least they can reproduce the crash now.Originally Posted by SuspiciousPixel Go to original post
Tested the game with TU3, having CTD everytime after 15min of gameplay (5 times in a row), still sending my reports. Performance wise, the game runs better; not that I had much issues with an RTX card; while I can see some tweaks here and there in the graphics. There's hope...
