I do find the original post very interesting. From what i've read, most people find their exotic from bosses within a few runs, but those that been grinding 100+ never seem to post to say "Hey, just got mine after <no.> runs. I've done about 100+ runs myself and have not seen an exotic weapon drop from a boss. I know RNG sucks, but I've always thought a lot of games had broken RNGs.
The only exotic piece i've had an issue with was the marksman rifle, the part when you demolish the weapon found in the hovercraft. I didn't get the exotic crafting item and had to wait another week to try it again. it worked the second time.

that's by design it drops after 2nd run, but u didn't have to wait a week to just do it again

So you haven't collected the Chatterbox parts or had a D50 drop and then got the Liberty components? Both of these don't rely on RNG.

Chatterbox took me 2 weeks, because of RNG. Liberty took some time cause I had the Liberty components, but the D50 suffered terrible RNG.

I have never had an exotic drop from missions or open world, I have all the craft able ones but have never seen merciless or sweet dreams.

Sweet Dreams dropped for me at BankHQ this evening. Merciless last week. RNG Gods good for a change.

Liberty & Chatterbox are not what I call drops. They are Exotic Do Specific Task Stuff Get Exotic.

And no I have never had a exotic drop in this game ever.

Apparently its not just exotics that people have an issue with the drop rate of.
