    Still playing Far Cry 1

    Hey,
i am still playing all this years Far Cry 1, i am sure i finished game hundred times. Far Cry had so good graphic for its time and models are amazing. After playing Far Cry 1, one of most epic games, which was ever created, Far Cry 2 felt like garbage, mainly because no mutants. Farcry 1 had such a epic locations and as i said it was one i those games, which are original. I only played farcry 3, no mutants but it was decent and had suspenseful story. Only to much looting and skinning not so fun, could be better, but it was okay. Than i didn't play any other farcry, because it is clique, only gangs and people, which bores me. After having sci-fi story like in farcry 1 and mutants, which i would say is objectively better, than only gangs, which so boring. It is fine, if you want make game with gangs, but i expect since farcry 1 had mutants, there will be at least one sequel with mutants as well. After the years, still no mutants If they did at least farcry remaster, it would be nice. Or better sequel for that, or another game with mutatns, it would be so epic. I am dissapointed with new farcry games after farcry 3. Today games suck mostly and even games didn't have nicer graphics back than. Today games are to colorful and not looking scary, or not necessairily even more realistic. For example fear 3, which is much never game than fear 1 and having uglier graphic and less scarier a realistic than fear 1.
I think a lot of people would play new farcry with mutants or remaster, it was so epic game like half-life.

Yeah I loved Far Cry 1 too, and played it to death. I obsessed over making videos of each level on Realistic with no damage. You can't really equate the original to the rest though because it was designed and developed by CryTek. Oddly enough CryTek originally never planned for it to be a game, but rather a graphics demo. They had no game making experience back then, but they decided if they add a story and AI they could make a game of it. It's kinda sad Cervat Yerli had to get so full of himself thinking it was OK to drive around in a high end sports car whilst leaving his employees without a paycheck for months after the success of Crysis.

Crytek never seemed to have good business sense or a feel for their customers. Cevat and his CryENGINE team are still doing brilliant things though. They recently released a video on YouTube called Neon Noir that showcases how their latest version of the engine will be able to Ray Trace on any contemporary GPU. There's not a whole lot of dev teams that have used their engine though, and I often wonder if it's as much to do with not trusting Cevat as laboring through the learning curve of how to use it.

I enjoyed the plot of Far Cry and didn't see the back story behind it coming. I had no idea it involved genetically modified apes and humans, but was thoroughly immersed by that aspect of it. Many were put off by the mutants though, which is I think why when Ubi took over the license to Far Cry they changed the theme. I still enjoy the evolution of the series though, especially the AI. In some ways the AI of Far Cry for it's time were clever, but any time an enemy can take several hits from a suppressed weapon and not know what direction it's coming from or take cover, that's pretty bad.

Here's a few of my Realistic mode no scratch videos. Back then most were downloading vs streaming videos so the quality once uploaded to YT is not great. You have to watch them just through the embedded viewer or keep it at the smallest size to avoid lots of blur.
