I can't launch AC3 remastered. Screen goes dark and then starts flickering like crazy. If I turn off my monitor and back on I start hearing in game music. But I have to reset my PC to regain control, otherwise I have flickering black/white screen. Other games including AC Odyssey play just fine so it looks like a bug.
My system specs:
i7-9990K
32GB DDR4 RAM @3600MHz
GTX1080ti
AOC AGON AG271QG 1440p@144Hz GSync Monitor
Windows 10
I am having this issue as well. First, I set the game back to my monitors native resolution (1920x1080) in the games .ini, and that seemed to work okay when initially starting the game. Now every time I start the game my screen will go black for around 15-30sec before the startup movies begin. While I am now able to play the game, I would ideally like to use Nvidia DSR for this game.

Ok after some digging around i found the ini file in my documents. a changed my resolution in there to my monitors native resolution and changed the setting that allows the game to run in windowed mode
DisplayWidth=1366
DisplayHeight=768
WindowMode=1
RefreshRate=60
window mode was 2 but after changing it to 1 the game worked fine. i hope this helps
Ive tried all I can do, it has nothing to do with my monitor or my graphics. I have done so much to try and start the game but its just not working.
Uninstalled then reinstalled the game as well as uplay
Update my drivers.
I even rolled back a pc update just to make sure.
Verified the files after everything I have done.
Im just at a lost now for what to do.
If you're still having difficulty, I'd suggest contacting support.
I'll also move this to the community support forums.
Hope that helps!
