    Flickering on game launch

Both AC3 remastered and Liberation remastered cause my computer to go haywire and my screens flicker on game launch. The game appears to be running in the background but takes forever to get to the splash screen and I have minimal control over my mouse (all the while flickering). I can eventually click on task manager and I regain control over my system and then I can force close the application.

    Specs as follows

    i7 7700k w/ Asrock z270 Pro4 motherboard
    Asus Strix 1080ti
    16GB Corsair Vengence DDR4 @ 3000mhz

I run a dual monitor set up. My main monitor being a Dell 1440p 144hz Gsync monitor next to my other Dell business class 1080p 60hz display.

    Things I've tried so far:

    1. Disable G-Sync
    2. Converted to just 1 monitor setup
    3. Disable DPI optimizations
    4. Run as Administrator
    5. Updated Nvidia drivers

    Anyone have any ideas?

Mine does this too. I have a 7700k and an RTX 2080. It does it infinitely. It looks like the game is minimizing and opening back up over and over at super super fast speed. I have to spam alt F4 repeatedly then it finally closes and says The launcher has stopped working.

Found a fix that seems to work so far. Seems to be an issue with fullscreen maybe related to running 2 monitors.

Go to documents, find Assassin's Creed III remastered folder open the .ini file there.

Find "WindowedMode" this should be set to "2" which is fullscreen. Change this to "1" to for full screen borderless.

This made the game launch normally for me and I was able to get to gameplay with no issues so far and I was able to change settings in game with no issues. Hope this works for other folks.

Side note I did change the resolution in the ini file initially to 1920x1080 but I don't think this is necessary as I was able to change settings to 1440p 144hz in the in game settings without a problem and the game launches normally.
