A lot of people are requesting the pit viper or phoenix to be added and I'm sure this is really difficult to try recreate a bike handling line in this new environment/physics engine to be the same as the viper or phoenix but maybe just a new bike that is more mobile/flexible than the mantis could be created, I talked to some friends about some things we think would be great if changed, if some of these things could be done, it would be incredible.
- Stop the back wheel from slipping on vertical walls so easily
- Make the front wheel less stiff/stop it from bottoming out so easily and just stopping
- Disable the magnetic wheels, if even possible
- Make the bike lighter or increase the range you can lean forward so "flapping" isn't so difficult
- Adjust the centre of mass
At the moment I think majority of Ninjas just don't enjoy Ninjas on the Mantis and Ninjas are the players that really never stop playing this game after years they're always there improving their skill on continuous community created tracks so a Ninja Bike would be greatly appreciated.
Agreed. A lot of ninja techniques aren’t possible or are really washed down with the mantis. Apparently it’s the game physics also. But was wondering if an alternate game physics preset can be created to use on track central ninjas in combination with another bike if need be. As an option for the track creator to use or not. If this is even possible also
As much as I'd wish for this to happen, this is highly unlikely.
- Creating a new bike doesn't just come to physics, there is all the modeling part, creating custom parts for it, etc.
- Tweaking physics takes an absurd amount of time even for the tiniest changes. I know that from some talks with Trials Elites. (And regarding the post right above, creating a new preset of game physics is simply out of the question)
- Don't forget Ninjas are a very small fraction of the global player base. The question then arises: "Is it worth the time and resources investment to create a bike that only a couple thousands of people at most will actively use?"
The only way I could see one such bike being introduced would be in either of the two DLCs (and that would actually be a very bad idea since IMO it'd split the community even more, so I hope it doesn't happen. pls pls PLS take note of that staff, no Ninja bike in DLCs).
So yeah. I think right now there's no real solution but to deal with the Mantis.
The real solution is to go back to fusion. Lol. I’m jokeing. But for some of us that is the better option. Not trash talking Rising at all. I think it’s a great game. But my passion for trials quickly grew because of ninjas. That’s what I love so much about the series. Not the only thing but it’s a huge part. And I honestly believe Fusion takes the cake with that category. I myself still play Fusion a lot. But I dabble in rising here and there.Originally Posted by StormPsykoz Go to original post
I know its odd, but the Helium feels more like a ninja bike than anything. Im working up through Ninja 4 and 5s now, and going from Fusion to Rising i feel more comfortable on the Helium. It doesnt have near the same power, but its feel is more like what i expect. I might be alone in this, so its just my 2 cents![]()
I think that if time can be invested into building the Squid, then a Ninja bike isn't too far fetched. Let's not forget that a unicorn made it into Fusion as well.Originally Posted by StormPsykoz Go to original post
i dont believe that a new ninja bike would take so much resources and time....
Its not like Redlynx got to start with two empty hands and reinvent the wheel (...insert tireglitch joke)
Just lock it from being used in the core game and this should only be a positive thing... give the Ninjas their toy... why not?
I would be massively dissapointed if Pit Viper is introduced in Rising. As much as I loved it, it had its time and I don't want my new Trials to be me playing the same bike I played for 5 years already. It's okay if I can't do insane vertical climbing as easy as before or if some techniques are purely gone like the Spiderman save. Pit Viper was great for the futuristic setting of Fusion but I personally strongly appreciate the return to a more realistic and technical bike here in Rising. New game, new rules, new learning curve, I think it's good that way.
Ninjas will do just fine without the exagerated capacities of Pit Viper. It wasn't an issue back in Trials HD and Trials Evo days, it shouldn't be one today. Also, as mentionned by calculusman, you can always pick up the Hellium in Rising if you want a lightweight bike with insane grip and mobility. Not that the Mantis cannot stand on its own :
Just so you know, I'm not asking for a pit viperand I don't know why you said it wasn't an issue back in HD or Evo, HD was the first for Ninjas, they had nothing to compare to and Evo was a step forward in possibility, The Phoenix from Evo is much better than the Mantis for Ninjas, also "It's okay if I can't do insane vertical climbing as easy as before" have you climbed a wall in this game? climbing basic vertical walls in this game is way easier than in Fusion, you can climb for years, this bike is extremely over powered in vertical climbing ability but when it comes to more technical climbing then it's Bad and inconsistent due to the BW slipping all the time, Spiderman is still very possible, Helium is a joke of a replacement for the Pit Viper or Phoenix, Issues like the magnetic wheels make BW/FW really bad due to the wheels being pulled down to the ground, and certain transitions are inconsistent because the magnets lock the wheel to one platform and have to release and reattach to another platform, also realistic is boring, that's what mx vs atv is for lol the high skill cap is what's incredible about Trials so much content, so much things you can do and master, a new bike with new strong and weak points is good to change up the meta, but making things not possible, inconsistent or just not enjoyable is terrible.
