Another E3 with no news regarding Splinter Cell? Seems likely, given the inaction.

Given that this forum doesn't have any general Splinter Cell subforum, and judging from the other stuff posted there, I'm assuming this is the correct place to post this. Would ask a CM/Moderator, but I don't even know who (if anyone) is managing this community currently, I only know a couple of the former people (not that they're not people anymore, just that they don't work with the SC community anymore)

But, I digress. A bunch of people in the various Ubisoft communities have been getting StarPlayer invites to E3 this year, quite a few from the Watch_Dogs Discord/Subreddit community, and several from other communities, but I haven't seen anyone mentioned being involved with the Splinter Cell communities (granted, it's pretty dead everywhere, likely in part thanks to the massive disappointment that was last years bait-and-switch E3.) Speculating on the invites that have been revealed by fans, it appears likely that we're getting an announcement for Watch_Dogs 3, and, once more, nothing regarding Splinter Cell. At least, you would think that Ubisoft would be doing the absolute minimum to reawaken the community that has been dormant for far too long, thanks to the complete lack of interest from Ubisoft to maintain and continue the franchise.

I rant a little (a lot, to be fair), of course, but it would be great to know if there's even an interest from Ubisoft to do anything with this franchise, the Easter Eggs they keep adding in all their other games, it's been adding up over the years, it's just a weird move to keep reminding us that Splinter Cell is a thing, and yet year after year do nothing to actually maintain the community itself.

We'll obviously keep maintaining the community on Discord and Subreddit, on the plus side, it's a pretty easy job, given the dwindling traffic and attention it's seeing. Here's hoping Ubisoft eventually figures out what they want to do with the franchise, and starts involving the community.

At this point it's really hard to care anymore. Can Ubisoft even give us a proper Splinter Cell?

Blacklist was a step in the right direction, but it was released at the end of the PS3's life cycle and Spies vs Merc was a complete joke.

I'll support the game no matter what though, just to keep it going. If they do happen to release on the PS4, it should also be released on the PS5.

I'm always keeping my ear to the ground about any new Splinter Cell news. I make it a habit of playing Conviction and Blacklist when I have a lull in games.

But then again, I've been waiting for a new Tenchu game for bloody years now, so I'm something of a patient man.

Fingers crossed something is revealed at E3. Something. Anything.
