Ghost mode or the regular mode with starting weapons only (dropped weapons is allowed). No attachments, no skill point upgrades, no rebel ops, no damage modifiers when making it to Tier Mode. GO. UBI needs to make that a new challenge for even more unique rewards. My next play through I'm definitely doing that.
Around Tier 15 most weapons that haven't been damage modified stop working. I found that out when bullets from my BFG started bouncing off unalerted enemies. Nothing quite like popping a guy in the head with a .50cal and having him charge you.Originally Posted by TalsetTanx Go to original post
These are all really good tips. I wouldn't avoid flying in areas at or above 3 but I for sure ground all air support in Montuyoc, Media Luna, Pucara, Flor de Oro and anywhere nearby an Unidad base. After playing a while you should have mental notes made about where SAM sites are located and just steer clear of those areas or fly just above the deck if you have to come close.Originally Posted by hybridgryphon Go to original post
I would only add that in Ghost Mode I have found it's best to roll really slow but always be ready to move very fast. Take your time, use stealth as long as possible, engage enemies at range rather than up close when its an option, but always be paying attention and be ready to get up and exfil as fast as possible. Basically airplane rules "locate the 2 exits closest to you, in some cases the nearest exit may be behind you".
Don't F with Unidad! When they get involved it is time to leave!
I play GM on Advanced with all the HUD turned off and its stressful/rough but doable. I have lost characters that I'd put months into their campaign and it sucks but I personally appreciate the challenge and being forced to actually think harder about every decision and TIC makes the game more interesting.
I agree about the mag drop thing being a bit silly. I wish if you had 15 rounds in a mag and you reloaded it would just cycle that into your inventory so that eventually you would pop that 15 round mag back in and have to deal with that being your only option. But that being said it's not like I have ever had a hard time finding ammo boxes or scaving off dead enemies. Bolivia is an easy place to find ammo just about anywhere it seems.
Take your time, adapt to the new rules, be strategic and you won't have any problems with GM aside from glitches (altho if you know when/where they usually happen you can avoid those). I haven't ever lost a character to a glitch in GM, I have lost them to poor planning or carelessness on my part however.
