Assassin's Creed III Remastered - Frequently Asked Questions

    Hello everyone,

We hope you’re excited to re-ignite Connor's revolution in Assassin’s Creed III Remastered!

If you’re discovering the secrets behind the Revolution for the first time or you missed Charles Lee, we want you to have the best experience possible, so please take a moment to check out our FAQ.

Our development team has a special message for you in their Open Letter.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered launches March 29th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

It will also be available for Nintendo Switch on May 21st! The Japanese stand-alone version releases May 24th.

Additionally, Assassin's Creed III Remastered is included in the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Season Pass, and is available as a stand-alone game.

For pre-load release and timing, take a look here.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered features a new graphics engine, along with enhancements that include:
    • Resolution upscale allowing you to play in 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and PC, and 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One
    • Higher resolution textures
    • New character models
    • New lighting rendering system : Physically Based Rendering
    • Denser crowd, environments and VFX

The remastered edition includes improvements to Assassin's Creed III's ergonomics and gameplay mechanics.
    User Interface

    • Enemies in the Mini Map show the direction they are looking.
    • A colorblind aid has been added to spot enemies in the Mini Map.
    • When in conflict, the Mini Map will show the escape routes and the hiding spots to evade conflict.

    • Stealth features have been added including: hiding in bushes, whistling and double assassination in “low profile”.
    • When you assassinate an enemy from behind, by default the hidden blade is used which will not alert the other enemies and allow you to sneak into places.
    • You will also be able to attract enemies to hiding spots by whistling to them, letting you stealth assassinate once they are close to your hiding spot.
    • It is now possible to silently assassinate two guards when approaching them from behind.

    • Many weapons can now be crafted instead of just purchased in shops with the in-game currency.
    • To craft, the first thing you will need to do is collect recipes, most found in Restricted Areas throughout the world.
    • Several elements will be required to fulfill a recipe:
      • An artisan with the proper level of expertise (You need to complete Homestead missions to improve the artisan’s level)
      • Material and elements

    • Once the artisan is at the desired level, and you own the necessary elements, the item can be crafted in the Accounting book (in Shops or in the Homestead Manor).

    Nintendo Switch specific

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered on Nintendo Switch will include the improved ergonomics and gameplay mechanics, and will also make use of exclusive Switch features such as:
