I like the bonuses throughout the tree more than the other specs, so it'll stay my main. However, I tend to forget my supers in games anyway, so I'm not at a huge loss with limiting its use.Originally Posted by moesuvious Go to original post
It's still great for taking out the peskier yellows like grenadiers and snipers in one shot, or a minigunner since it can punch through the gun, but it's pretty useless against plated armor of heavy bosses.
I find it very inconsistent. Maybe it's hit detection, or maybe it's built in accuracy/error rng? I've one shot named enemies a couple times, or at least destroyed all armor and most health, from a pretty fair distance. Yet I head shot your basic elite (not a heavy) from about 15m and all it did was take out 3/4 of the armor.
Seriously a .50 cal "anywhere" on the target should totally grenade the enemy. (Exception maybe for the heaviest of armored enemies, but even they should have significant armor damage and stagger.) Since it is a limited use weapon, and we get very little ammo, it should be worth taking it out now and then. For the most part, in it's current state, it really is not. A regular marksman rifle is so much faster that the reduction in damage is outweighed by the ability to push more rounds and carry more ammo.
Personally I think damage is more of an issue than accuracy (not that accuracy is a non issue...). Or maybe even give it an armor damage buff. The simple fact of the matter is that this weapon needs a buff. The other two specialization weapons are great, this one isn't worth using. Especially when you consider that guns like the Nemesis or Model 700 are better long guns in this game than the TAC-50 is. Surely that can't be what the devs had in mind when they created this thing.Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
The gun is a great idea, but it's accuracy and low damage output make it a disappointment compared to demo and survival builds.
PS
I like that it takes a few seconds to pull the weapon out and for the target reticle to zoom in. It should take a few seconds to pull this gun out and get it set up. But it should also be rewarding to put a round on target.![]()
No kidding why do they move so damn fast? Scopes are meant for precision not tracking. Snipers should move slower like they did in the alpha stages but people wrongfully *****ed and they changed it now look at PvP. Snipers are OP... Not really they just swing to fast. I don't care what scope you have on it it should swing MUCH slower. This would re-balance the weapon to long ranges AS INTENDED.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
It should ignore armor completely. Even those heavies. It's a signature weapon meant to stop vehicles and it has trouble piercing bullet proof chap stick? Doesn't make much sense to me. Balance? Yeah maybe you should try out that grenade launcher that can hit like 5 targets with one grenade. Yeah balance. The snipers base damage should do more damage than the grenade launcher BECAUSE it is single target. The crossbow should also do direct health damage to targets in directly hits. After all the arrow pierces into the target and THROUGH the armor. 50 shouls most certainly be a one shot kill on ANY soft target with a head shot even if the NPC has a helmet/armor/engine block on their head... just saying.Originally Posted by swirl1297 Go to original post
Even if the TAC one shot kill elites the concept is still terrible, who ever thought carrying 2 sniper rifles around to be a sniper was a good idea needs to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better idea, I find it annoying that for me to play a sniper I now have to have 2 sniper rifles on my back, the Tac 50 and another standard marksman rifle to use 99% of the time, I doubt there is a sniper in history that ever carried 2 sniper rifles on a mission and yet for some reason someone thought it was a good idea, it's laughable, immersion breaking and poor design.Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
Accuracy should work like every other scoped weapon. remove the bloom completely when you pull it up and get it on target it should go where the scope mounted to the weapon is aimed. Bloom is an unrealistic thing meant to give false accuracy to the weapon. If you must make it harder to hit targets give it a natural more intense sway out of cover. In cover it should be propped on the surface and have very little sway and where the cross-hairs are the bullet should go. Damage is not a less important thing. It's equally important. It's a one shot device meant to take out a vehicle's engine block at over 800 yards. 70 yards damage fall off needs to go away. If you got rid of the damage fall off and gave it 100% armor piercing then maybe the gun would be ok in it's current state but it would definitely need testing before I say 100% for a fact.Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
