Ideas for Solo Build Lower Level (3-10)

What should I be looking at for a mostly solo player in the lower levels. What should I be doing other than Main missions and a few side missions. What type of weapons should I be running?

Do what ever you want. For the most part you shouldn't have any problems at these low levels.

If you want to do solo I would recommend the Revive Hive because it will give you a second chance.

Other than that, most weapons are viable and you can just play with them all and see what play style suits you.

Don't worry about a build because the enemies are weak enough that you will be able to kill anything with anything.

For the most part, I used either Assault Turret or Drone paired with the healing chem launcher. The turret or drone will help take some heat, and the chem launcher heal has a few charges with low cooldown. If I was doing something where death would cause a mission failure (like a bounty or supply drop), I'd change one of my skills to the Hive rez.

For leveling, I just cleared the map neighborhood by neighborhood--main missions, side missions, and control points. If I ran into an event while running around, I'd usually stop to clear those too. I've seen some people say to just do the main missions and save side missions for the 20-30 stretch, but in my experience it's not necessary. I finished my last main mission and side mission at level 29, and just did a couple control points to hit 30. This has worked for me well enough to level two characters to 30.

For weapons, whatever you're comfortable with--I used AR and LMG. If you're good at headshots, go marksman rifle. If you need something with some precision at range, maybe go with a semi-auto rifle modded for stability.

Don't get hung up on a builds/gear/weapons none of that stuff early on.

You're going to be replacing a few items each mission/20 mins of free roam because loot is plentiful.(make sure you're taking the time to explore and click all the things.. seriously.. there's loot everywhere)

What you should do is make sure you're simply using gear that is at level! Don't buy anything from the vendors early on.

Focus on movement while leveling up. Getting a better sense of your surroundings and how the ai plays. Try out all the guns and buy all the skills(you're supposed to)

I typically had a heal and an offensive skill assigned and had no issues getting to 30 using a mixture of everything.

Right now I'm using the chem launcher that ignites into fire with the turret. I shoot the chem pod at the and Mark them with my turret.. once their engulfed in flames a few shots to the face... Done deal. Having lots of fun with it actually.

If you're on PC and need some help or something hit me up. I typically play at night.. east coast time.

I always used the best LMG and Rifle combo I could find. They worked really well for me.

I played mostly solo to about level 20 but did ask for help a few times in certain instances.
My build was basically the same as it is now and I rarely do things solo anymore.
I use the Hive/Revive and the Seeker Grenades for skills. Having that extra death really helps out.
Next is, I optimise how ever I can for my main weapon(LMG). My second weapon is a distance weapon but not always. I keep like four or five weapons and change out accordingly.
Keep your max Gear score up. I know guys Usually go for health but I give it a third priority after Skill Points. Im a ***** for skill points.
This build has been very good for me. I also keep a few extra pieces recently collected in the bank for a AR build. Sometimes I just like to run with an AR.
Anyway I think there is more than one way to approach your question.
