Seriously!!???? How is that today I decide to knock my 10 qualifying matches out. Solo queuing of course and I get put into matches with the opposing team loaded with gold 1 and gold 2 rankings and my whole team each time had no rank. So 5 unranked players against high gold players in qualifying matches!! How in $%&@ does that make any sense????!!!!
This is just another example of how broken this game is!!!
Your matchmaking sucks. Your hit registration sucks. Your dealings with patches to correct glitches and problems sucks! The whole thing is unraveling and you just don't care!!!

I just wanted to pop in here to show you that I don't always support 'Ubi' or their game decisions.
I not only agree with you on janky placement matches, I've said as much in the past. It's a terrible system that needs to change so that nobody that's ranked should be allowed to play in placement matches. I don't even care if that means squads can't join a ranked match due to having ranked players within it. It may mean longer placement match wait times, but hey, that just supports getting more players in the team before you commit to the longer que times.

How many guys be could there be out there that are still rank placing? When I did mine I don't remember playing against anyone that had placed yet. Bur I always do my placement stuff the 1st week or so. I remember thinking some of those guys were going to be playing at much higher levels than me but I didn't feel like I was getting jobbed by the match making. Guessing the fact you are doing yours so late might be part of the problem. Maybe??

Every match of the 10 I played, and granted i went in solo, on 3 accounts! Two I ranked in at BRONZE 1. This account I ranked in at Gold 4! Every one of the 30 matches I played my entire squad was NOT RANKED YET. The other teams were stacked with high silvers to high golds. I'm not embellishing or exaggerating! It's not a figment of my imagination. The quality of the players on my team that the matchmaking system lumped me in with was horrible! I couldn't see their clearance level because you guys at ubisoft thought that would be a good idea so people wouldn't quit prior to the match starting once they saw they had queued in with a trash squad, which by the way is proven to be ineffective because THESE CLOWNS are just RAGE QUITTING ANYWAY! But I can tell you that it seemed like I was playing with people that played like they were clearance level 31. For my sorry arse, potato aim, low k/d behind to carry the other 4 should be a testament to how bad the other players on my squad were. Thank God there were no platinums in the mix or I would have qualified as copper!
It shouldn't matter that I waited a mere 3 weeks to grind my qualifying matches! If this was 3 days before a new season then Major2's argument would hold significant weight. But 3 weeks in, 30 matches all with "not yet ranked" players is a joke!
Ubi-Zoro you're a stand up dude. I like what you say most of the time but this has to be one of your best deflections to date.

The placement system is extremely flawed and frustrating due to a jumbled skill sets being thrown together makes it impossible to consistently win. I feel a better system would be to have everyone plat 3 and above the previous season start at plat 3. Gold players to gold 4 and so on. Then when a player climbs out of their initial preseason ranking group their MMR expectancy resets making them to continue prove their rank in the division. So each group gets an MMR reset. This would make 5 stacking not a necessity and would improve the quality of placement matches for all.

When you play your first placement match, your "rank" is at Gold 4, which is the peak of the bell curve for the match making. This mean it's completely normal, at least for the system, to be matched against gold and silver players for your first few matches.
I'm not commenting at all on if this is a good system or not, I'm simply explaining why you see what you see.
