The AI is the worst I have ever seen in a Video Game.
I was taking a Level 3 Outpost. There was Fire everywhere the Reinforcement comes out of the door charges at me. (like everyone not just melee). Really everyone was running into the fire it wasn´t really close to the door. They come out of the Door within 0.0001 Sec they know where I was running straight at me into the Fire and everyone dies. (The Fire was in front of my cover I killed a Bomber and exploded fire was everywhere)
I shoot at them bullets flying and they still walk towards me (not just melee) they simply don´t care and take cover. Or the Enemy is on Fire walk out of the fire, the debuff is gone and walks again into the fire. I shoot the Chem Luncher the Enemy jumps out and back into the Cloud.
Hyenas bunch of Bandits and they can shoot better then a trained Navy Seal. I mean Hello do they ever miss a bullet??
That the most unrealistic behavior I have ever seen.
They have to Fix the AI ASAP its a Joke.
The AI is very good imo. The types of enemies all act in different behaviour. So you have to Focus the aggressive enemies first. If they wouldnt be that aggressive the game would be easy as ****. The enemies miss very often there targets a good example for that is the launcher. There Are just a Lot of bullets coming to you in a 15 vs 1![]()

The allied NPC AI is terrible. Particularly, the hostages. They are just plain suicidal.
Ill spot you the Friendly AI, and the Hostages, the enemies however, with a few exceptions that seam to be pathing issues, have been very good.Originally Posted by Casughoul Go to original post
Nah I don't think so.Originally Posted by Dr-KaBoom Go to original post
Although the AI is very good, I can see some issues OP mentioned.
Particularly the spawn system and AI accuracy. Sometimes, by no fault of the player, 5-8 enemies spawn literally in at the door you where sitting in front of. Not much you can do there.
And the enemy accuracy is just "off" in snowdrop engine. It feels like it's depending on connection somehow, or it varies from server to server, but I think it's the reason that over the years of Division 1 we regularly got topics about stealth buffs to NPC's, while there were none.
In conclusion, the enemy AI is very good, but OP's concerns are to be taken seriously.
There's a chat going on elsewhere on the forum and I think they're making the same points.
I think everybody's right.
In the story campaign, the ai was the best I'd ever played against. I loved every part of it.
But in the end game there are scenarios where they are overpowered and therefore become over aggressive and I think that's the point the op is making and I agree.
I really wouldn't even call it AI, it is decent in very specific scenarios, but overall it still feels extremely basic. The NPCs still have the bugs from TD1 where they instantly fire when they decide to get out of cover, not when they actually are. This is especially bad with snipers as those seem to be able to aim while behind cover for an insta hit before they even appear. Then we have the obvious cheats, wallhack, aimbot, cover ignore, speedhack as far as i can tell, and the insane HP to be real idiots and get away with it. Sometimes it really feels like the NPCs have a plan, but mostly it is just braindead zerg, made possible by cheating.Originally Posted by SevenNVD Go to original post
