they cant have us log back in right where we left ; it would be abused one way or another.
first thing that came to mind is trying to get a good position, alt-f4 out to lose npc's attention, log back in at the perfect spot without aggro... seems OP

You don't seem to understand the "safe zones" located throughout missions where you restock and pause to allow your skill timers to count down to zero.

How can this be exploited by logging out to go to the grocery store and then logging back in at that same location?

well in this case you want them to hold an instance for you for x time while you do groceries?
    idk man.

obviously they have reasons for things to work how they do.

Why is this even a topic?
Honestly l, them doing that would be absolutely pointless. You can easily take over control points fast travel to them log out do your thing come back. As for missions? I highly doubt that will ever happen. How is it Ubisoft’s problem you have to go to the store? It isn’t... when you log into the game you will load into the nearest control point of that area or safe house. This has been a thing since Division.

Look, it happens to everyone it’s not that big of a deal. If you know you have things to do first. Take care of IRL stuff first then game out....If I have to leave that’s my problem and I’ll gladly just restart it.

Dude...I used grocery shopping as a simple example.

And lol @"This has been a thing since Divison". That was 1 game ago. It's not like this is a 15 year old franchise and a gaming tradition. It was only 1 freekin game.

People have kids, families, jobs, phone calls,...real life stuff...that is unplanned and interferes with gaming at crazy and inopportune times.

We don't have to restart a mission when we die because it's unnecessary and not a game-friendly way to design something you want people to play.
We just want Ubi to grant the same leniency when **** just plain happens in the middle of a gaming session.

Fixing this harms nothing, doesn't make the game easier, gives nobody an unfair advantage, and would be a simple adjustment that makes gaming better for people with lives outside of their gaming rig.

    That's all.

Pssttttt last I checked nearly every online ARPG, MMO etc you log out and youre back in a village, safehouse etc etc. I log out of diablo I dont log back in standing in the middle of torment 5.
Same as any online game, I log out I dont log back into that same server next match or whatever.
Get over it. If you cant allocate your time better its not the games fault. Notice how noone else with a life is *****ing about this nonissue.
As fair unfair advantage, yyeeahhhh it does. Log out wait for mates to get on that have been farming something like an exotic log back on and get blueprint at checkpoint then finish mission without doing all the previous **** in the mission. Seems pretty unfair to those that had to do it from the start.

Clearly there is enough time to refresh and reply to this thread, use that time to clear a mission instead. Or group up and get it done faster.

if u dont have time to complete a mission dont log in and play , aloow time set up a couple of hours why does the game have to be suited to your real life commitments ?

and to be honest if a single mission is taking u 2-3 hours or more u are doing something wrong , very wrong ,

I would be happy if the game just deposited me back in the vicinity of the starting point of the mission activity. I have played thousands of hours in other open world games which manage to do this.
OP - you will get short shrift in this forum if you ask for simple QOL improvements. The prevailing attitude is that someone who makes a suggestion to make the game more fun for anybody other than someone who can sit down and play it for hours at a time is a despised 'filthy casual'.
