Think about it, instead of doing 30 backflips you could be holding a Proud Hero pose for 30 seconds total, or preforming a Underdog trick on 3 different jumps. Get 1,000 points on a single jump could have been an option as well!
But, it is probably to late to add tricks to the game now, but I can dream.
Truth be told, id much rather deal with a separate FMX trick system like Fusion than some of the ridiculous requirements of the contracts on Rising. They just pretty much took everything and incorporated it in one place now. I know, I know... contracts aren't a requirement... but theres no button that can just hide them all so I can see all the pretty shiny diamonds all over my map.
Leaving my dislike of the FMX system aside, the problem with this suggestion is that it just adds another criteria to the existing contract system without adding any depth. There are already over 20 contract criteria, which leads to thousands upon thousands of possible combinations, but every front flip contract is going to feel like every other flip contract regardless of whether your bike is on fire or you have to beat silver bullet.
If I could bring something back from Fusion it would be the track challenge design criteria. I think a track challenge like Pipephobia is way more interesting than any wheelie contract because it asked you to do a specific thing that related to the way the track was built. Every wheelie x meters or drive on one wheel contract can be mostly cheesed because you can constantly put your front wheel down. It's not until the very hardest contracts where you have to actually start thinking about how to approach it.
But the problem is not that the contracts are too easy, it's that they are formless. They lack identity. They are disembodied counters that could be picked up and transplanted onto any track in the game. The track challenges in Fusion were not all great, but they were usually at least memorable because they stipulated a specific action that was related to the track's design, or offered a hand crafted piece of content that was built into the track itself.
It may be that the track challenges were much more labor intensive to build, but compared to contracts having fewer to do would be a welcome relief. I've done 399 of them, mostly just to get the faces off of the map. The only ones that stick out are the ANBA contracts (which would be better realized by adding per-bike leaderboards to the game so that you would have a deep and rewarding long term reason to keep using the different bikes instead of just playing a handful of levels one time with them), and the ones that were hard enough to require a grind. I think that less experienced players will hit the difficulty wall much sooner and be left with a seemingly endless wall of indistinguishable contracts on the map, and more experienced players will trudge through literally hundreds of forgettable contracts before meeting a handful that will stand out.
In the end, I think the contracts set out to solve a non-existent problem in trying to make the game feel more like a campaign. The feedback I hear from less hardcore players is that they come to Trials for the difficulty, which is thwarted by the long slog through the easy levels at the beginning, and they come to Trials to compete with friends, which is thwarted by the decreased visibility of the friends leaderboard, the lack of an "only friends" option for ghosts, and the disorganized track selection screen, which makes it hard to move track by track and see who's beating you.
+10000! Couldnt agree more with the above. Ive been very vocal about this. Loving the game outside of TC disaster and half the game being broken, but the depth and creativity (not to mention sense of technicality and humor), seems to be missing in the contracts. Really hoping the DLCs and future contracts rectify this. Please hear us RL![]()
I didn't mind Fmx to be fair, felt cool nailing the tricks and with Trials physics it didn't feel out of place.

You have hit the nail on the squarely on the head there.
In trying to make the game more realistic and campaign like, the game doesn't feel as unique overall. Gameplay is still Trials but the whole set up now feels like The Crew or Forza or lots of other racing games outthere; contracts are now no different as drift this amount etc in other games.
In context, Fusion tracks were all themed and track challenges logically built into that theme, Rising has it's locations from around the world so there's ample opportunity for themed track challenges.
A hidden Tea level in England.. balance on the kettle or flip on the spoon to get the sugar's into the cup.. A rickshaw in India.. Mummy's. Tomb's in Eygpt.. Raiders of the Lost Ark Style.. A dragon in China.. A hotdog in New York or Ice Rink (Central Park) where traction is reduced.. The amount of potential is massive
Ghillie on the fender... find the Sniper in Pripyat.. I'd have laughed my nuts of at something like that and it would have stuck in my mind as did the Shivering Isles other track, playing tennis with a penguin and the myriad of other stuff that's in Fusion.
The Ferris Wheel in the background would've been great fun too.
Sorry for the double post.
The A.i riders in Stadium finals feel out of context with the rest of the game.
In view of that, contracts could've been set up like.. Martin Monarch has done 4 backflips, 10m wheelie and finished in 150 secs with the player having to beat that to complete the contract. Not much but at least having to beat something is more empowering than just doing it.
They're too scared to even call it "fapping" so I highly doubt racial/national stereotyping is gonna entice them lol.Originally Posted by Vort1gon Go to original post
