I'm sorry I referred to my character as a him. Maybe if I refer to my character as a she you will not find that "interesting"?? 🤣🙈👍Originally Posted by Halstedrox Go to original post
My favorite part of TD1 was finding all the audio logs, laptops and echoes and then working out the story for myself.
I'm enjoying that in TD2 as well but there doesn't seem to be as many as there were in the first game. I definitely miss the crashed drones as well.
I also miss the survival guide, it was really well done in TD1 and I had hoped something similar would be added to TD2.
My biggest annoyance about TD2 is the safehouses, I enjoyed the sometimes crazy people running them and enjoyed doing missions for them. In TD2 they are barren uninteresting locations that only serve as FT points on the map.
Also the video logs are very well done.Originally Posted by Wurm65 Go to original post

Yea they are focusing on gameplay but they didn't on main story, and that is why unfortunately they will not become game of the year. Because game is amazing when you play but its not woow, like what we seen in for example, uncharted or read dead 2. Imagine that your main character is more interesting and that he can speak and cinematic is more focused on him and not on other npc characters... Then maybe you can care more about your character and this world....
It would definitely make the player more immersed and more invested in the story and lore of the game.Originally Posted by VLADA757 Go to original post
So much potential squandered for the same old mute character and Destiny 1 like shallow story route.
The story was dreadful, I doubt future story missions will improve any of it. Just more content to repeat which I am okay with considering it's a looter shooter after all. However in saying that, the echoes and recordings are more interesting so it makes up for that. The side missions are better as well.
As i said before a few of these echoes could have been part of the main storyline considering how important they are to the main storyline. They could have made a few Main Story mission that had the Agent investigate why ISAC got shutdown which could have lead to some of the Echoes in the BTSU Operators Echo storyline which does show you who shutdown ISAC and who these people are.
Spoiler: Show
The D2 story wasn't awful, it was just bland. I didn't get attached to any of the characters and I can't even remember the names of the bad guys leaders. D1 forced you to interact directly with more people, had better cutscenes, and memorable personalities. Each NPC had its own unique story and motives. In D2 there's just a big bunch of "we gotta save the people!" generic personality.
D1 also had a better atmosphere, the whole time I was playing it I *felt* like I was in a frozen wasteland scrambling to stay alive and save others. I just don't feel it in D2 sadly. I'm not captured by the game, I don't feel like I'm in a war to survive, I feel like I'm playing just another tropical shooter with generic bad guys.
The mechanics are great, combat is fun, I love the game....but it just doesn't have that same feeling at all.
