    Year One

    Hi,

About one year ago Far Cry 5 was released. It wasnt perfect but still had a blast. Had much fun with the most powerful editor of the far cry series until now.

Seen alot of amazing, incredible creative stuff made by you, the players, thanks. Here is a little tribute. Sorry if yours didnt make it. So much sweet maps out there. And the red grids dont help either

This year was fantastic indeed, and i'm very happy that we'll still be able to play great maps made by the community for the next months.

Watched the video and left a comment. Also subbed...you should be getting far more views considering the high quality each of your maps have.

I can't believe that it's been a year since this game was released! Looking back, it's hard to appreciate some of my earlier maps. Restless Area is probably my least favorite, which was the second map I did. The problem I have with it is the rest area and restroom buildings which are all too blocky and basic. The lighting is good though and I've had some exciting car chases along the highway there. There are some things I like about it, but being the first time I worked with generic shapes, the buildings kind of ruin it for me.

The only early map I did that I think still looks good is surprisingly my first, which was Cedar Island, and that is only because I did huge update one day that entirely changed the map and environment. The original was kind of ugly and was too large with spawns spread out along the edges of the map. Now the only thing that remains of the original is the town section, which even that has drastically changed in some areas. Does anyone here remember the original with pics of it when I posted it on these forums? I think I had pics of Restless Area as well.

I have had a lot of fun with the editor and I will absolutely continue to create the maps in the future too. I finished only 6 maps in year one even though I made maps an hour or more almost every day. Two of them was in the tribute video!

I've seen amazing maps created by other mappers and I hope that others will keep making maps too!

A lot of sweet looking maps on there. Shame UBISOFT never gave us more game modes and respawning vehicles though. Took them for ever to patch in the server browser for hosting our own maps. By then game was almost dead. 3 to 5 almost full rooms and plenty of 2 player beta testing lobbies isn't much to speak of. Also the 3 to 5 lobbies playing the same maps from pick a map like nuke town or toy soldiers and pirate map. Them got old fast.

I rarely ever have a problem finding a full or nearly full lobby. Getting one started is another thing...difficult when at times I'm competing against 7-8 other lobbies.

And if I ever come across people running featured maps, I'll just leave and try another lobby. Even if I enjoy some of them, I've played them hundreds of times. I'd rather play some lesser played maps that seem to have been forgotten by the community or don't get the much needed attention that they deserve.
