I think the big problem is that the armor system does not seem to work correctly. I was free roaming on HARD the other day doing some activities and some how red and purple level enemies can melt away almost 900k armor in a blink of an eye and take you down. That happened a couple of times while fighting a mob and you get caught out of cover for a second and you are on the ropes.
This does not feel right while playing on HARD with almost 900k armor. It make s playing and frustrating.

I prefer that this game be designed for solo players to only be able to complete lower difficulties and groups being needed for the top tier difficulty.. That's the point of a game like this, it's about hanging out with clan/friends and having fun.. Can't be everything to everyone.

I think damage is not scaled with difficulty. I quit for same reason. I only had to play on hard because of the MANDATORY hard or higher missions for specialization. So, while I have a family and time is scarce and don't have time to spend making "friends" how the above states, it's become locked content for me. I only have one friend that plays this game but he plays on console so, on different platform. Others quit long before I did.
Anyhow, the builds that the game forces upon us to be efficient are contradictory to my play stile. This whole game I see as a failed. Heroic missions should be about achievements like saving a lot of civ, about participating and turning a tide in a big battle to the order side. Restoring some areas to have sort of end purpose.
This game is killing minions by the herds and doing it with a time for ... show. And 5 minutes later you do it again, and again, and again, and again, for " targeted gear farming" reasons. Am I wrong to see something wrong with it?

    Draining or Challenging?

I’d like to start by stating the game has already been nerfed to the point that running solo in Challenge world tier (including invaded missions) is too easy and at this point doesn’t even resemble what the game promised and delivered gamers when it was released.
STOP GUTTING THE NPC’s AND NERFING THE TOUGHNESS!
Ok that said. If you have problems understanding builds or don’t understand the strategy of cover or moving from cover to cover there are tons a videos to help on YouTube.
There are plenty of videos it will help explain what skill haste, skill repair, repair skills and other stats that show up on your armor sets. Information is out there to make the game play easier without changing the difficulty of the game as a whole.
There are no participation awards, it’s either win or lose in this game sorta like real life lol
But don’t get discouraged, as you start to understand Builds, find weapons that suit you and your game style, learn it’s unwise to pop your head up in the same place behind cover repeatedly (think Wack-a-Mole) you will start to improve and start to be able to move up in world tier to play successful

I used to think solo was difficult but now i tend to use the scenery to my advantage, use my drone and mines on the big guys, clear as many of the weaker enemies first and dont back myself in to a corner if i can help it.....if all else fails...fall back and re-coup my health and ammo, usually a couple of bad guys will follow for easy picking, also there are usually friendlies about as well as other enemies which i find tend to go for enemies......the enemy of my enemy is my friend.....until its there time to die, one last thing....always know whats behind you and dont be a rambo.

I've been playing the game solo after finishing the story missions in The Division 1 (which I also played solo)
I actually think solo is better in this game because of the Striker Drone. It's like having another player with you, provided you mod it up and have decent skill tiers. Now obviously, if you're deadset against playing a skill build and the drone doesn't appeal to you, that means you need to find another way to both survive and deal enough damage against waves of reinforcements. I'm sure there are other ways to do so. If the way you are currently playing isn't working AND is making you frustrated, maybe it's time to try a different build.

^^This^^ I see soooo many bad builds.. and then they wonder why they can't complete content or get kicked from groups.. it's not so much get good as it is understanding how to create synergy with your gear.

I sincerly hope the devs don't listen to the nerf people, challenging is a snoozefest and if heroic gets any easier the game will be boring

Ok, I came to this forum because the other groups (facebook) are filled with people who can't accept that people have a different opinion of the game than they do, How unfortunate I come here and it's more of the same smh. But thats beside the point, I've done just about everything in this game except for the raid because I can't find enough people to do it. I have four good builds that I use (crit, skill, an explosives builld, and a defensive tank build). I normally run hard global setting and do missions on challenging because at the moment there is no benefit to doing the harder settings because the gear is pretty much the same. And with all that being said, this game is unfair!! From the spongy npc's, enemies who appear out of nowhere, non existent armor, consistently being rushed and forced out of cover, and being completely under powered in almost every situation. Think about this, in the next update (10) they said they didn't want to lower or change the difficulty, instead want to REMOVE SOME OF THE FRUSTRATING ASPECTS!! That tells you right there whats going on in this game isn't by accident, they took every advantage the npc's have and magnified them and it's become a frustrating mess. Now I guess I have the type of mentality that won't let things like this stop me, but that's ME, and I don't expect everyone to play like me, so I'm sure this is nothing but a headache to a lot of people who bought this to have FUN. The difficulty in this game is obviously tougher than what most are usually accustomed to but this is a VIDEO GAME and video games are meant to be FUN not FRUSTRATING!
