Most people won't bother reading so here's a TL;DR. Division 2's solo experience is unfarily punishing. "Git Gud" all you want but just because you might not have a problem with it doesn't mean others don't. It's not fair on those who just want to do their own bloody thing
I primarily play solo in the open world(and missions the first time round so as to be able to take my time.) due to not wanting to deal with randoms or my mates are busy with doing other things in game(in this particular case that's getting to the endgame. I've been playing since last Tuesday). So far my time with the game when just trying to explore or do a new mission or just do general open world fluff hasn't been particularly great. Rather, it has been incredibly draining mentally. To me and possibly many others it seems the devs went out of their way to make the Division 2 as unfriendly to solo play as possible. This is not a good thing whatsoever.Nobody should feel like they're being forced to group up just so they may explore the open world. Nobody should feel like they're being forced to group up for a main mission if they don't want to. Nobody playing solo should be put into situations that having backup would easily get them out of. When you're alone tackling a group of enemies that are the bastard offspring of Coldsteel The Hedgehog and the humanized embodiment of cocaine, constantly being fired on making the exact moment you leave cover a death sentence despite supposedly having armour, and then have Metal Gear ****wad's with sledgehammer, chainsaws, grenade launcher, etc rushing you and flushing you out. The **** are you supposed to do? How are you meant to get out of a situation like like when solo? Why should players feel like the game is punishing them for playing solo? What's worse about all this is these complaints will just be laughed down and mocked by others in the community.
Solo play has some major problems. Problems that can and will drive some folks away from the game with a very sour taste in their mouth. I'm not asking for the game to be dumbed downed into "Baby's First Loot Shooter". I'm all for challenge, we all are, but right now when playing the game solo at your own pace it is not a challenge, it's unfair punishment towards players who dared have the audacity to venture forth with some content on their own. Right now I'm on world tier 4 and my experience right up to then has been the exact same. I'm not having as much fun as I should be. I shouldn't be groaning in contempt when I stumble upon activities in the open worlds. I shouldn't be finding anything in the game to feel like a punishing chore.
This game is so much easier solo than in a group of 4 it's unreal. Solo, I can breeze through content, just take my time and play tactically and it's no problem. I'm a lone agent against an army of bad guys, I need to play it as such. In a group of 4 the enemies are much more aggressive and higher in numbers it becomes a true challenge. I die solo and I die in group, it's a game, failing is part of that. The important thing is I learn from those deaths and change what I'm doing. I use different skills, different weapons, i figure out how to approach different situations.
The game is extremely rewarding to solo player and should be left as is.
Yeah, I can't imagine how much worse the grouped content will be for people who think solo is too difficult. Tactical and situational awareness is paramount to success. I suspect that people who are able to progress easily look at the terrain and enemy layout, and decide on an approach that fits the situation.
Then there are people who complain that they liked to play a certain "way" and that the game is bad because it doesn't let them do that and not get slapped down. I would suggest Warframe as an alternative for such people, as the player power balance there might be more to their liking.

If you are bad...get better...or I think Tetris is free to play, or also that’s too hard?
The problem is not being bad or being great at shooters. The biggest main problem is STILL, just as with D1, that even enemies who are several lvls lower that your character can still almost kill you with just 3 shots. But god forbid when you try to take on an enemy that's only just ONE level higher than your character and it's almost impossible and most of the time a one shot kill on your ***. This makes it feel as if it doesn't make one friggin difference what type of armor you're wearing since they still keep killing you with all the ease in the world. So yeah, I get the frustration of the o.p. A bit of a challenge ok, but this is just out of control when you never ever feel as a bad *** yourself in this game when you feel like bullying a lower level group of enemies with your higher lvl weapons and still end up running for your live.
I prefer running solo. Every time I teamed up with others it turned out to be every man for himself.
When I run solo I take my time; keep my distance while keeping one eye on the mini-map at all times. If I have to fall back, then fine. I use my seeker mine and drone or turret to cut the computer AI's down to size before I move in to finish them off. For the AI's using sledge hammers, etc, again, I keep my distance and use my M-60, which usually does the trick. But again, you have to keep your distance.
I find the AI's in Division 2 to be more aggressive and that makes it a much more enjoyable game. I found that it is easier to draw them out and channel them to me, which gives me the advantage.
Game is boring as hell playing solo due become very easy mode
If op cant handle, just sell/unninstall and go play another thing.
I tried matchmaking my missions for increase difficulty but was need complete them solo because no one enter, i beat all missions alone without healing skills except for president ellis rescue due my primary build be smg and shotgun.
If i can solo all without healing skills and i suck in pvp and not a pro, theres no excuse for people complain about single mode be hard.
Ubi put singleplayer easy exactly to people stop complain about be hard lvl up alone.
How reach lvl30 solo?
Each mission almost up 1 lvl
2 or 3 sidemissions up 1 lvl
Control points give good exp
Even with easy mode and easy xp people still complaining because dont want think and die facetanking enemies instead use cover.
Theres nothing to say, just quit!!!
Sell or unninstal the game and go play something even more easy lol
I am sorry but im gonna comment on this hypocrisy, as we see this "Not Fair" statment alot. It goes both ways its also not fair to the players who enjoy the diffuculty to have it removed because others are unable to do it.Originally Posted by kat-kun Go to original post
Thats all I wanted to say, as there are plenty of other difficulty posts on the forum atm and I already posted my personal views and what I think is the main issue with difficulty in a couple of them.
