    Extreme No HUD/Upgrades Walkthrough

This is a visual guide on how to beat the game on Extreme with no HUD or Upgrades. I have beaten it on Tier Level 1 via Mission Replay, but I feel this combination is more realistic. There are no magical skills applied, and no HUD or mini map markers as visual aids. Since there are also no player Physical Skills applied, you die just as easily as on Tier Level 1. However I've gone one step further, even though I'm limited to being revived just once vs twice on my Tier Level 1 play through with skills maxed, I am attempting to beat each mission without having to be revived at all.

I'm also not using any weapons or weapon parts in provinces I've not yet played, so things like the most powerful scope (unless on a weap I get off a corpse and can't store in inventory), won't be used until the harder provinces. As well I'm not using any of the powerful DLC weapons, save for the M1911 Golden. I rarely kill with the M1911 Golden, but I gotta have at least some bling.

I will continue posting one province at a time as I complete them. For best video quality, be sure to select 1440p (not Auto1440p), if your ISP speed can handle it. If you are close to having fast enough speed to view them buffer free, but are experiencing some buffering, try pausing to let it buffer completely before viewing.

    Wow. Keep it coming. Inspiring!!!

What skills are necessary? Do you have any?

Any general tips you could summarize for us?

Thanks, no, not using ANY skills, and the only Rebel mission I've done is the 2nd one of the game where you are forced to defend the transmitter in the Rebellion Rising main mission. I'm not using any help from Rebels though, not even basic Rebel drops, and I never free Rebel prisoners. I'm basically doing that to avoid them as much as possible so they will be less inclined to ruin stealth.

A couple things I'd forgotten is skills are even applied to parachuting and Grenade Launcher attachments. That's why I flew the big chopper high before landing near the transmitter in Rebellion Rising, I was going to parachute in after having it blow up landing it a couple times, but I'd forgotten it was a skill. I was also assuming I could eventually deal with convoys using a grenade launcher attachment, as the hand grenades take precise timing, but again, another skill I won't have.

My tips are, either follow this guide, or do a lot of trial and error on your own to see if you can come up with better methods. Just don't think you can't do it if at first it seems impossible. Many of these missions, including the first two in Barvechos I'm doing right now (El Pulpo's Right-Hand Man, and The Money Truck), were seeming like I was going to have to either use lengthy kill the whole camp tactics, or use NV in the dark of night, but both were very manageable in 12:30 on the 1st, and about 7:00 on the second, and in broad daylight using mostly stealth.

Like I've said before, early morning daylight hours offer dark shadows, when you're prone in them they can't see you. It also happens to yield better visibility to see the enemy, and better performance and visual quality when making videos. My hope is to keep most if not each province under 1 hour total video time, largely due to my slow 5Mb upload speed, and so far that's not been a problem, especially with Pucara.

Highly impressive work! Since this is a fair number of videos, I've moved this over to the Community Creations subforum and left a redirect back on General Discussion.

Thanks. I will be watching all of these over the next few days and as you go for more tips.

You’ve inspired me to go back to an early backup save I have with my Ghost Mode character and start over with few skills and play on Extreme. I normally play on Advanced with no Hud but I’m finding that is not challenging anymore. I never go down unless it’s a glitch or dumb accident which is causing me to become lazy. This should put some added pressure to be more tactical and vigilant.

Edit: one bonus is that you don’t need to deal with convoys anymore. Resources are meaningless unless you do them strictly for the Rebels (role playing).
