First impressions of using Track Central to check out the user made tracks

I finally figured it was about time to check out TC. I've been hearing there are some good tracks. I try to use the Custom Filter, expecting that I can filter by difficulty or ratings etc., but that doesn't work. The left side of the screen says "Custom Filter" with no UI at all, and all I can do is back out. So then I figure I'd try the Red Lynx Recommended. There should be some good tracks there. Nope. 0 tracks. Now I'm left looking at a wall of user tracks of all difficulties and various up/down ratings, and I gave up.

Not a good first impression at all.

    This is on PC btw.

The custom filter holds filters you have added to it, so make a selection of filter options you want, click save, give it a name and it should appear in the custom filters.

Whatever happened to an easily viewable grid of different feeds? Highest rated this week, new skill games, highest rated all time trials, new ninja tracks etc etc. It needs a complete makeover, current state seems like a messy canvas waiting to be turned into something

Oh I see now. Well that wasn't obvious at all. I assumed "Search" would be to search for specific track names or user names. Instead, "Search" is where you define and save a filter, and then Custom Filters is where you view those saved filters. The Custom Filter menu should explain that instead of being empty and looking broken the first time you use it. So I made a filter, and found the first track returned had 1 single rating. OK I have to edit the custom filter to add a sorting option, that's fine, except you can't edit your filter from that menu. Instead, you have to recreate the entire filter in the Search menu, which I did and I gave it the same name expecting to get a prompt to over-write the previous one. Nope, it just made a brand new one with the exact same name.

Also, after playing a track I get an option to vote on it, but no option to add it to my favorites! I have to go find it again to do that.

There are much better ways to have done this stuff.

Agreed. Until TC comes back with grids of weekly highest rated, etc etc, I will not be playing TC. Searching for good tracks takes a while. Good thing the SP tracks will take me a while to finish, contracts and speedrunning and all that.

Enjoying TC even if it's so messy right now. Even keeping a list with the tracks i like, in case something goes bananas and we lose our upvoted/favorite tracks. It's not more of a chore than fun to browse the tracks right now, but i have around 100-150 tracks i really liked, so i guess it was worth the trouble. Lets hope for a bunch of fixes/tweaks, even better an overall revamp, soon.

Saving seaches can give you all that, it's just the base layout that's bad.

Biggest issue I have with TC is that it puts you back at the home screen after playing a track, so if you wanted to favorite it you gotta find it again.

Upvoting the track saves your time on that, until a proper fix arrives that will allow us to favorite from the track's end screen. Except if you spam the buttons at the end and skip the voting accidentaly. After playing all the customs i wanted to try, i go there and favorite the ones i want from the upvoted.

Not that it shows more than 60 favorites, but whatever. I hope it gets fixed and we get to keep the favorite tracks we added so far.
