The only thing that was like that in Division 1 within the lifespan of the game was Classified striker because its bonuses were so in general relative to the game as a whole: health and damage.

Because of that, it was the best gear set in the game. That is why 1.8 was the way it was.

Exclusive gear, or just gear in general, in the DZ, or even in the LZ should not follow in the foot steps of Striker.

And the raid has been confirmed to have exclusive gear. If you think that is okay, but the DZ can't be the same way, then we have a problem.
if the DZ would for example drop 10 item-score higher than any LZ activity just to "lure more players into the DZ" than thats a **** insentive as its an overall push in power, that CAN be used in both pve and pvp but it would be locked behind pvp.

i dont have a problem with exclusive gear per se ... i have a problem when that exclusive gear for some reason becomes the BEST gear for the activities that its not aquired from (i.e: gear that pushes pve-specific stuff, but can only be obtained in the DZ).
it would be the same ******** as if you could get gear with lets say "-10% damage taken from rogue agents" but you can ONLY get it from the raid ...

the problem is making pvp-gear interesting in a way that it is more desirable than pve gear and vica verse.

thats why pvp-specific gear (dropped only in the DZ) should have benefits specific to pvp (like +dmg to players or less damage taken from players, etc) and pve-gear (any gear aquired outside the DZ basically) should have a malus on all its stats so that it is not as good as the DZ gear.
item-scores should always be the same maximum as to not have any scaling issues.

i hope this makes my position on the topic very clear!

i want a STRICT seperation of the modes ... if there arent enough people in the DZ, give them something else like exclusive cosmetics or something like that (something that has NO impact outside the DZ)

What has to happen, in my opinion, is for the DZ to gain its own exclusive exotic loot pool, and even its own exclusive gear set loot pool. This has to happen in order to incentivize the DZ again. Assuming they will follow Division 1, Exotics are a 1% drop. It is a hardcore chase that is kind to some, and harsh to others, but the drop rate will bring players in the DZ and for much longer, ultimately populating it again, without really turning the light zone into Division 1's light zone.

Sorry PVErs who do not venture in the DZ, but this has to happen, or the DZ will not be used (inb4 those who enjoy seeing it burned). Some of you may already know, but I've brought this up in the past. Exclusive gear has been confirmed for the Raid (check the raid tab in the Social menu), and now I think the same could be done for the DZ.
Guess my question is who are you trying to get into the Dark Zone?

For a 1% drop chance, I'll never go in. Don't care for the PvP part and PvE part sounds like a huge waste of time being an average player with limited gaming time.

At least with a raid, I'd be working bwith others.

    • The non-DZ side of things are complete and whole by themselves. No more of the weekly assignment requiring DZ kills nonsense we had in TD1. This includes assignments, missions, loot (e.g. raid only loot + dz only loot is fine; while only the dz having exclusive loot is not fine) as well as relative desirability of rewards (e.g. best of everything only being in the DZ is not fine).
    • Any and all balance decisions in the DZ never have any influence outside of the DZ. Snipers too strong and have to nerf them? Nerf them against players, but don't touch their balance against NPCs. Electronics too strong? Nerf them against players, but don't touch their balance against NPCs. You can nerf everything down to doing 1 damage all the time in the DZ and I couldn't care less because I don't participate.
    • Realize that not everybody likes PvP. Just as not everybody likes puzzles, not everybody likes working out builds, not everybody likes drinking alcohol, not everybody likes eating dog meat, not everybody likes taking drugs. You may like it, but stop giving me that "if you try it you'll love it" ********.

TD2 has been a brilliant launch, even with all its bugs and persistent shortcomings inherited from TD1. Please don't throw all that out the window and revert back to TD1 year one with "all hail the DZ and let's make everyone go into the DZ by giving nothing worth anything outside the DZ and try to shove the DZ up everyone's arse with objectives requiring the DZ all over the place" attitude.
Damn.. this guy is so right!

Don´t force players to go DZ is one of the best of TD2

    True Story!

    GIVE US A PVE DZ!

    Give us that option!

Love Pvp? Go and play PvP

Love Pve? Go and play PvE

    Give players the option!

I played a lot of the DZ in Division 1 and right now with 51 hours in the division 1, I have not touched the DZ yet at all except in the tutorial missions.

I am probably going to hit the DZ at some point to get my gear score up to 325 and hit the 2nd endgame stronghold within the next day or so, but right now the DZ is a side area. It is not the main focus of my play. Most of my friends who did the DZ are still leveling up their characters. They haven't even reached engame, yet.

I am probably the only person on among my friends at lvl 30+. I don't think there are that many people who are endgame yet. Going into the occupied DZ with world tier 1 weapons against world tier 4 players lurking is a suicide mission. Notice the DZ's after lvl 30+ all say World Tier 1-4. I am world tier 2 and I wouldn't consider it.

The fact that the DZ's are empty right now isn't surprising. Besides the LZ has so much to do and it really begs for your attention.

I figure give people a couple of weeks as well as a fix on the skills and you will see more people hitting the DZ.

I will say from my experience in the Beta's; it would be nice to have more landmarks active at one time. I know the idea is to have people fighting over limited landmarks, but I think a tweek there wouldn't hurt.

Then put that gear in the DZ, as I implied in my first post "no gating" that goes both ways.

I'm bringing this back because I think this is a worthwhile discussion.

Right now, Dark Zone is pretty dead. Occupied DZ is a ghost town. The other two DZs are a little bit more active. I'm not sure if it's the lack of build diversity or overall gameplay in the DZ.

How about adding blueprints to dark zone projects (Dailies and Weeklies) to incentivize players to go to the dark zone instead of mats?

Dz only cosmetics would be fine by me, but not exclusive gear.

Raid is different as it's PvE. No one should be forced to PvP to get gear for PvE.

    The Raid is not different.

You're going into the DZ to PVE in order to get this gear. You're doing the exact same thing in the Raid.

"You're going into the DZ to PVE in order to get this gear. You're doing the exact same thing in the Raid." There is PVP in the raids?
