As a pure PvE player who's currently in World Tier 1 and have not even done the DZ East recon mission and don't plan to do it ever, I'm fine with whatever is done in the DZ as long as three things are maintained:
- The non-DZ side of things are complete and whole by themselves. No more of the weekly assignment requiring DZ kills nonsense we had in TD1. This includes assignments, missions, loot (e.g. raid only loot + dz only loot is fine; while only the dz having exclusive loot is not fine) as well as relative desirability of rewards (e.g. best of everything only being in the DZ is not fine).
- Any and all balance decisions in the DZ never have any influence outside of the DZ. Snipers too strong and have to nerf them? Nerf them against players, but don't touch their balance against NPCs. Electronics too strong? Nerf them against players, but don't touch their balance against NPCs. You can nerf everything down to doing 1 damage all the time in the DZ and I couldn't care less because I don't participate.
- Realize that not everybody likes PvP. Just as not everybody likes puzzles, not everybody likes working out builds, not everybody likes drinking alcohol, not everybody likes eating dog meat, not everybody likes taking drugs. You may like it, but stop giving me that "if you try it you'll love it" ********.
TD2 has been a brilliant launch, even with all its bugs and persistent shortcomings inherited from TD1. Please don't throw all that out the window and revert back to TD1 year one with "all hail the DZ and let's make everyone go into the DZ by giving nothing worth anything outside the DZ and try to shove the DZ up everyone's arse with objectives requiring the DZ all over the place" attitude.
Right i'm not at endgame yet so I can't speak for that part but this game is probably the best loot shooter ever and i'm enjoying every second of it. Let's ease up a bit before trying to reinvent the wheel when some of us GOT the best game we could hope for in Division 2.Originally Posted by alex_mlem Go to original post
no thanks ... dont "lock" the best PvE loot behind some pseudo PvP ******** thats mostly just people griefing each other...
in my opinion there shouldnt even be any PvE-optimized gear dropping in the dark-zone at all... it should have its one PvP-gear with stats that only work in there or something.
as some have said: this is mostly a PvE game and most people hated the darkzone in Div1 and its basically the same now...
there are already cheaters rampaging around and the dark-zones current balance is pretty much non-existant. heres a few examples of why we need STRICT seperation between DZ and LZ:
- sniper-builds that one-shot players with a body-hit
- SMG-builds that kill players in LESS than 2 seconds (with optimized stats can even do it in 0.5 secs)
- shield-skill-build that makes the skill-user almost immortal (can survive fire of 2-3 players for sustained periods) AND can kill players due to ricocheting bullets in an 180° arc
with that said: seperate DZ and LZ even further...
dont lock the best gear (or exotics with PvE optimized perks) into the dark zone
But you're still silent on the raid having exclusive gear? Ok.Originally Posted by NEOFRONDEUR Go to original post
Just because something is locked behind an activity doesn't mean it will be the best in the game for every situation for every activity. You must get rid of this perception.Originally Posted by SethUnleashed Go to original post
The only thing that was like that in Division 1 within the lifespan of the game was Classified striker because its bonuses were so in general relative to the game as a whole: health and damage.
Because of that, it was the best gear set in the game. That is why 1.8 was the way it was.
Exclusive gear, or just gear in general, in the DZ, or even in the LZ should not follow in the foot steps of Striker.
And the raid has been confirmed to have exclusive gear. If you think that is okay, but the DZ can't be the same way, then we have a problem.
You'd be doing a PVE activity in order to get the loot........Originally Posted by Dante-Yoda Go to original post
This thread...
I favor the DZ, would love more players in DZ. I also go Rogue and is your typical "griefer" apparently for engaging in PVP in a PVP instance. I mean...I could call the pure PVE players snowflakes/carebears I guess in return, but this isn't the point of the thread.
Just slightly increase the loot drop rate a bit. Just for high-ends and even exotics.
I would LOVE exclusive gear in DZ...you know...just like the raid will. But god forbid, having exclusive PVE gear is good...but for PVP its out of the question right?
Again, adjust the loot drop rate for DZ
ADD EXCLUSIVE GEAR TO DZ IN COMPARISON TO THE RAID!
This will appease, SHOULD appease, both playerbases... I mean, I shouldn't have to engage in some PVE activity for exclusive gear if I don't like it said activity right? Same thought process for DZ.
Some real hypocrites in this thread...that alone makes your opinion that much less creditable...
You've admitted to your own fallacy. You said you go to a PvP zone to PvP, yet you aren't happy with the exact incentive to be there and want PvE rewards from PvP. The game starts and can end as a PvE game, it doesnt' start and and end as a PvP game. If you want to feel special in PvP then add DZ based weapons and gear that only have use in PvP but pushing majority of the player base to deal with you and your boredom just for PvE loot is a bad idea and one of the factors that hurt the first game.Originally Posted by seeker_724 Go to original post

Please, do tell where in my original post did I say "I go to a PVP Zone to PVP, yet I'm not happy with the exact incentive to be there and want PVE rewards from PVP"?
Way to assume I just go to the DZ JUST to pvp, and assume I'm not happy to be there or with the current incentive. Instead of throwing words in mine or anyone else's mouth, actually read first eh?
I would go into more detail and contribute to more of a conversation, but it would prove to be a waste of time based on how you fail to simply read a post and the inability to understand it.
You have no value, thanks.
Carry on with the rest of the thread though with that flawed mentality you got though!
