    Game crashing on startup

    Type of Bug:

    Game breaking

    Description:

    Game instantly crashes on startup. Best i’ve Seen were 2 seconds of black screen. CPU usage of the division is 0% on startup.

    Steps to reproduce:

    Hitting play button

    Expected result

    Game booting, I guess?

    Observed result:

    1-2 seconds of black screen, followed by c crash, followed by send a crash report window. No error messages unfortunately.

    Reproduction rate:

    10/10

    System specs:

    6700k, Gtx1070, 16gb ddr4 2666; no Logitech peripherals, no MSI afterburner or other OC tools running( although MB is MSI), no overlay programs, no antivirus interfearence, tried with every possible variation of config(dx11/12, windowed/fullscreen etc.), every driver is fresh, plus I’ve tried rolling most of them back for testing.

    Haven’t been able to start the game once since i’d Bought it....

    Hi Tango,

    Try to disable DX12 - this might fix your issue.

    Go to my documents / my games / the division 2

    Look for state.cfg and edit this line:

    dx12 = true,

    set it to:

    dx12 = false,

    Thanks for advice, but already tried it and it did not help. Stated so in the original post too.

    Have you tried verifying the game files in uPlay T_A_N_G_0
    ?

    Verified game files, uninstalled, reinstalled, verified 2 more times - none of the above helped.

    I have a strong feeling this has to do with anticheat being an *** because of some process, but since ubi doesn’t allow to look into crash reports - no chances there. I’ve tried stripping system of ANY non-vital processes. Still nothing.

    You are not alone. I have yet to play this game at all without it crashing 2 mins in. Don't let them tell you that it's your specs or anything. I have a 2080ti and can't believe they are telling people it's their video cards. I will never buy any of these games as service loot games day one EVER again.

    Hey I just found out in another thread what the problem is!!! Do you have a Logitech headset? If so go in and disable both the processes in task manager. The surround sound process. I guess it not only kills the sound but kills the game. I CAN'T BELIEVE UBISOFT DIDN'T TELL US THIS!

    Nope, as stated in first post, I have no Logitech peripherals, so nothing to fix there, unfortunately.

    New rig
    Fresh windows 10 install, new drivers and windows updated.

    This "premium game" still crashed at startup.

    Sorry guys. Refund requested.

    Will not buy a Massive Entertainment game in quite some time.

    fortunately I don't have the audio bug since I don't have any logitech peripherals. I don't even use a headset. I prefer using a usb mic and my computer speakers 3.1 setup.

    I've only done 1 story mission from start to finish. Usually I can't even do a mission now from start to finish. Keep crashing to desktop with no pop up error messages and event viewer doesn't say anything is coming up with an error. Have to do a hard reset every time. Also have to keep repairing that dam anti cheat module EVERY time before I start a session. So now I just random matchmake just to level up but I don't do any of my missions...I can't. I'll probably stop playing this game and wait until a month later or two. Everyone will be end game and I'll still be stuck at level 9
