While Scale is a possibility, I feel its unnecessary. This isn't a Regular RPG. There is no Sword of Slaying With minimal stats that you swap out for a Sword of Greater Slaying with awesome stats later. Stats other then Damage are pretty much static in Division that i've noticed. For example a M100 Lvl 1 and a M100 Lvl 30 WT4 Will have identical Accuracy, Stability, That is until you get Talents on the weapon.

Meaning, Baring Talents, If you use the same Mod Setup on a M100 at level one it will have the same effect on a M100 at lvl 30. I've been using this to effect up until WT2 where I'm currently ranked.

Now i bet you noticed i didnt include Crit Stats above. That is because Crit Damage and Chance are both set by multiple sources. In all reality, Early game i wouldnt even bother with Crit bonuses, They arent going to be significant enough to really help until around level 20. Because by then your seing more Purples and Yellows being added to the mix. and With each Rarity of gear adding another stat roll you have a pretty good chance at building around Gear. Then at lvl 30 you have the Recal station that can allow you to move things for fine tuneing on gear.

In my opinion the current system is very good. The key to it is proper planning and understanding which Guns benefit from which stats, and which guns get redundant bonuses from those stats. For instance. If you are trying to boost Stability on a Sniper Rifle you are wasting your time. The time between shots is already long enough to reset your shot before you can even pull the trigger again. That being said, With a Marksman Rifle Stability is a Necessity since it turns your gun into a laser minimizing the amount of aim correction you have to do. Another example is Accuracy. The only weapon I've seen react positively to accuracy is the LMG since it reduces the time it take to steady your aim during constant fire.

Take the time to learn the weapons and what they benefit from the most, Or if not, Just watch a youtuber and follow the guide.

You realize that you are constantly changing out everything for stuff with better stats, right? Always finding or searching for ways of upgrading and swapping out for better stats until the very end of WT5, when you min/max. No its not a sword of slaying, its a lightweight M4.

If they don't come up with something new in the next few weeks and change it, I'll never support Massive ever again, I don't need another Bungie that doesn't listen to community feedback.

No one is ever going to use +reload +accuracy -stability +range and so on mods in his build... Most of them are useless and on top make no sense.

I'm almost 450 and only for a few hours I used a extented mag.
Alot of people don't even bother modding any weapon and I don't think thats intendent.

Skill mods aren't better with those ridiculous skill power requirements.

Talents and Damage are all that change, dont believe me go look. a Lightweight M4 will have Identical Stats to another Lightweight M4 otherwise. When it comes to weapons, Talents are the variable that can change in any direction, Damage just grows constantly.

EDIT: Before it is pointed out, The Single Stat that weapons have Dedicated to them seems to only be effected solely by Rarity, However I have not put enough Effort into the Research. Edit 2: And Level Evidently, Though Between GS250 and GS 300 It was a 1% difference on HEadshot damage.

I agree with most points listed here that the new system is not the best in regards to the actual stats and the 1 positive with 1 negative really not working. I also agree that I do not want to go back to random drops and I like that once you unlock a blueprint and craft the mod you have it for all guns. However, with that said the traits of the mods need to have at least 2 positive traits with one negative that makes sense or counteracts the positive traits slightly.

For instance in real wold shooting using a vertical grip gives enhanced weapon handling with faster target acquisition and more vertical control during rapid fire shooting, but can decrease accuracy slightly, so it would make sense to apply that in game as well with maybe +15-20% handling, +10-15% stability and -10-15% accuracy Using a large extended mag will obviously increase capacity and maybe add crit chance since you are firing so many rounds, but due to the larger mag you have longer reload or decreased handling. Just my two cents on that.

Basically the Mod Team needs to do actual research on real life weapon attachment benefits and consequences of using that attachment. Mods cannot continue as just random negative and positive traits that have no rhyme or reason.

I feel like if the guns were scifi laser blasters and the mods are named something else, it would probably be okay.

But since they're based on actual attachments irl, we draw parallels and then it just feels... wrong?

If you think of all the guns as nerf guns and we're just having one big nerf war in DC, it would make more sense.

Overall Division 2 is well designed.......but i think the whole weapon mod system leaves a bad taste. Its overly complicated when it should not be...modding UI is not very well done. Negative stats need to either be removed (along with lowering the positive values) or at the very least significantly reduced. For the most part I do not even bother modding a weapon unless its something for which the negative stat is already very high on the weapon. Otherwise, I just feel like I am chasing a zero sum...which is pointless. I just don't think that was their intent. Also, as others have said.......how can increasing your accuracy reduce your crit chance?

    Re: Weapon Mods

This is a repeat post. Other people have already made posts like this

My stance remains the same. The weapon balance should be focused on the weapons themselves, not the mods. The negatives on the mods make it confusing and not fun. I should be able to mod a weapon and make it look how I want, while still getting something out of it

The negatives should be removed, and perhaps the positives lowered to make them not OP

As for another comment in this thread.. Ubi is listening. They do respond to threads from time to time. Part of the issue is that people continue to make same, or similar threads over and over again. This results in posts getting drowned out.. Like mine. I did suggest a 2nd forum that is invite only. It would make serious discussions with Ubi easier. Feel free to read that here if you wish
