State of the game missed the point!

The problem AFAICS is, that the "Campus" settlement is not shown on the map.

If you have done the Jefferson Plaza mission, just go to the settlement (find its location on the Internet). I did so yesterday and could continue my story mode (mission popped up and so on). The proposal activity "Theater leader outro" is still displayed, but I do not care about this as long as I can progress thru the story

The above is of course my experience and I bet at least for some of you it would work like this as well.

I have completed the Theater upgrades, and got the missions requested completed as well. I also have the Campus unlocked which lead to more main missions. If the Ubisoft mod could kindly let us know whether the Castle should ever be green, or simply a dead zone (grey), I believe that would put most of the concerns in this thread to rest.

Can you all confirm that you have done the following?

    - Fully upgraded the Theater and did the quests from the Theater
    - Complete Air and Space Museum
    - Complete American History Museum

    Thank you.
All completed, and since we know of the settlement, and some say they have seen the settlement lit up, while others have said they've heard/read/watched something that says it will remain dead, Ubisoft not answering the question of whether it stays dead or becomes unlocked (with projects, staff, and something other than the "7 survivors cutscene") it's not as if you'd be providing any spoilers to this particular thread.

Since my first post, we've mostly all understood more missions after that Castle cut-scene won't appear until you hike West of the White House and unlock the Campus. I've even unlocked the second person for the campus at this point, unlocked the guy that allows for daily bounties, and still the Castle is greyed out. Simple confirmation of whether it's meant to stay dead, or become a functioning Settlement would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey chillout8199,

The settlement is meant to stay greyed out.

As of today, this Settlement is still glitched and I cannot access it even after I completed the Jefferson Plaza main story mission.

Guys the Settlement is NOT bugged

It is meant to be greyed out for story purposes but it’s not explained very well at all

Final answer: The Castle is never an operable settlement. Completed a few more missions and once I fully upgraded The Campus, I received the achievement for fully upgrading ALL settlements. Guess that clears it up.

Can you PLEASE link to an official announcement on this? It's terribly confusing that there is a settlement that is not a settlement. There is nothing in the story to says "Oh thanks for saving us, but we've given up on this settlement! Go away."

Note that people are still confused as there are people still asking questions about this.

    The Gate Was Locked

This is a huge concern as it’s disrupting the natural progression of completing the campaign or is it that I’m missing something?
Until I went down the parking garage next to it, Where the audio recording is. I came up and the gate was open
