I wait for most games. I bought FC5 $15, FC Primal $10. $20 for this game is too much for me. I'll wait for a $15 sale at playstation store or I wont get it. I prefer digital download these days. I'm pretty sure I won't like this game as much as other Far Cry games. Just going by all the leveling and repeating things just at a harder difficulty. The terrible music and the numbers flying off the enemies when you shoot them. LOL
I warned everyone well before release of the game about a price drop - https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...the-price-drop
It's a ubisoft game, if you didn't assume it'd go down in price quickly at this point, you haven't been paying attention. I'm happy to pay full price for a game even when I know it'll drop in price in a month or two when it's a game I think deserves support. New Dawn wasn't a game I felt warranted that support, but now that it's so cheap I may pick it up and keep it for a drought period or something.
I always try and buy deluxe and ultimate editions if I can afford them, and pre-order when I can, because I like to support the devs of the games that I enjoy myself in. This game was a major disappointment as a sequel to a great game. It should have been a DLC to FC5 instead of it's own title. It's even reflected in the release price. With new games standard going for $59.99 now a days, and this game on release was $39.99 if I remember, reflects that Ubi knew it was a small title. Everything in New Dawn has been a downgrade from FC5. There was a lack in everything. Map size, weapons, weapon customization, Guns for hire. The only thing that wasn't lacking was the wildlife that seemed to always spawn at your feet right when you start your outpost run, or trying to be the stealthiest possible. LOL!
All in all I do like the game for what it is. My only guess is that the project became to big to include as a DLC so they had to release it as it's own title, but knew it was small enough that they better not charge their player base a full "New Game" price or they'd be ripped by the community.
With all these sequel disappointments, though, I"m starting have second thoughts about purchasing any deluxe editions and ultimate editions, or even pre-ordering games in the future.
I got it 50% off yesterday. Pleased I waited. I knew it wouldn’t be long.
I don’t think it sold that well...
In fact as I grow older, less and less games interest me, especially enough to buy Day One.
I’m finding it’s far more economical to wait. Alot of games prove to be disappointing these days.
Bought METRO day one, big mistake! I really wanted a hardcore experience. Played several hours, and it was very slow paced, forced to sit through lengthy poorly voice acted cutscenes. When the action did hit it just wasn’t that memorable, very similar to the previous games. I have not played it since.
So it’s far better to just wait, cos that was £60! That’s a lot of money for a game I’m not currently playing. I had the same experience with Spiderman, just felt like every Spiderman game I’ve ever played. It was a lot better quality of course, but the same old same old...
