Hunting in FC5 with a prestige LMG is a tremendous amount of fun

I got the perk that gives me double skins and went out to do some hunting.

Started getting annoyed with the bigger animals (bears, moose) because I'd shoot them with a bow and before I could finish them off, they'd be running and eventually disappear.

I moved up to a hunting rifle with a scope, which worked a little better, but obviously yielded less pelts. Out of a herd, I'd get one animal max.

But then one day, I got attacked by a grizzly and pulled out the M249. Within two seconds, that bear was rolling end over end. Didn't even have a chance to turn around and run.

Since then, I have become a terror of the natural world. Entire herds of deer are mowed down before they have a chance to escape. Bait is regularly used up, in hopes of attracting more grizzly bears. Aggressive herbivores like bison and moose are head-shotted with the Blood Dragon sniper rifle. And most of all, I'm filthy rich. I'm carrying $50k cash and have every gun I want.

The most effective way to hunt in this game is to take a bow, Jess and one other GFH archer.

With Jess in your party animals will let you get close to them without running away or attacking. And with 3 bows in your party you simply find your target, then instruct Jess and the GFH to attack. And as soon as they shoot then you shoot too.

So any animal you find will get three arrows to the face which is usually enough to immediately kill anything you come accross. Even bears. AND you will get double skins for using bows.

Also, it's worth noting that contrary to popular belief it is NOT a good idea to take Boomer. Because A) he can spook animals (such as Moose), and B) you don't need his ability to 'spot' animals, since there are multiple ways you can do that yourself without needing him.
