It is easy for me to sneak in to base near the watch tower (opposite side of a road where the jammer is, from the side where the wood is). Come near the fence, wait till guard comes to entrance, turns away and goes - lay down and crawl to the entrance. Right after it - turn left, crawl between fence and 2-store barrack (container-like). Then either enter the comm center if the guard is not there, or crawl by the right side and enter through window. Just be ware of guard on a tower.
When the fight starts - lay down infront of the stairs to the second floor (on the second floor, definitely), so you can only see door that's on the first floor, call reinforcements, and stay there. Few times unidads enter the second floor by the stairs that are from outside - but it can easy be defended with a jumper-mine, or intruder can be even shot down through the wall.
Also. Why is everyone so scared of not using ARs? This mission is much easier with the LMG. Suppressed U-100, if you have it - is awesome there. The fact that it has magazine feed makes it simply the best weapon because of fast reloads.
When stealing data is over - simply shot down the heli that can spot you, jump down the second floor (same direction where you came in) and run into the forest. If you came in prepared - you may leave car there, in the wood. Or heli.
Done this mission yesterday on Tier 1 on the first try.
Problem isn't the mission so much(though some of the failures there that I listed above are silly). The problem that I had was that the challenge said no using assault rifles, not only use LMGs. Getting challenge failure for using a BFG or HTI was silly.

Ok that’s very good to know. Not that I plan on going back there anytime soon. I still have nightmares from the last outing.

The best way to do this mission is in Ghost Mode when you're at about Tier level 2 or 3 and the end is in sight.

Since the challenge I’ve been sussing this mission out on extreme to see how I can make it easier for myself without having to cheese the mission..
I’ve found from a certain position on the map while in a helo with the mission active at extreme range. I can take out the sam site, the base generator. This doesn’t always kill the power so I take out the drone jammer as well including the alarm. This needs to be done at range so that no Unidad personal spawn else you’ll fail. I have it down pat now so I’m pretty quick to take all this crap out then get on with the actual mission. I’ve been setting the time of day to 19:30 so I’ve still time to wait out before 21:00
Having that drone jammer out of the way just makes life so much easier without having to manually turn it off or lob grenade’s at it or the generator from the balcony.

I personally feel that any time I have to use the medic drone, I’m totally cheesing a mission anyway. That thing is a ridiculously silly idea that has no business being in any game like this. And the fact that it’s a critically important tool in completing this mission, really tells me this mission is impossible.

Same with the Predator mission. Great fun to do that one in Ghost Mode.

I would think either are both ideal prior to doing Amaru's rescue ...

In my playthrough I didn't even disabled jammer/generator. Using drone only distracts you from defending position (and that's the kind of mission where even one wasted second is enough to fail it all), so I'm saying no to that.
There are no safe spots there, there are only "not that bad" spots for defending position, so using drone there usually ends in death.

You did this on Tier1 without using a medic drone? Please put up video of that. I've seen it done at Tier 1, but I've never seen it done on Tier 1 without a medic drone and heavy rebel support.

I used rebel support, I've mentioned it in my post. Both distraction and ... ehm, what's the second one called, don't remember.
Yep, I did it on Tier 1, maxed (bit of luck, I guess, usually I do die there), but no, I do not have a video. I do not capture all my games.
