I’ve only ever done this mission on Arcade after multiple failed attempts and haven’t gone back to it since then.

How can you possibly get through this in Extreme?

I wonder what options we have to cheese this... can I do most of it on Arcade with an AR (failing it) and then swing by the designated deployment point to reset the challenge on my way to extracting Sam?

Yes you can.

With the majority of challenges depending on the mission I’ve found you can, just do the challenge loud, take hits, wipe out the base etc so just play normally but. Once you’ve done getting the majority of the challenge completed, cleared the base, picked up someone for extraction. You can then just fly to whatever start point it is to kick off the mission. Go back to the base, no re-spawned enemy or yea. Just fly your hitch hiker to the extraction point.
I’d say once you have Sam go back to extreme mode, fly to the start point to activate the challenge & you should be fine.

Thanks Guys. I will give it a go in Extreme without an AR, but I'm not going to waste all day on it. If that fails, then I'll cheese it

tbh... Been waiting for them to drop this as a challenge however.
This challenge should have been the third solo not the second solo. Would have given people the opportunity to complete at least two challenges & opted out on the third. Pretty BS ubi!

Skydive to the 2nd floor entrance where Sam is. Pull chute at the last moment so you don't get spotted while gliding. Use SR25 jungle to one-shot everything, call guns for hire and diversion, throw proximity mines on stairs so you are covered while you take care of the towers. You can grenade the jammer from the balcony if you need to revive teammates.

First time I played this mission on Extreme I failed 7 times. I finally completed it by calling for Rebel reinforcements and Diversion and telling my AI time to fire while I took cover and threw grenades. I also placed mines outside the building. After Fisher completed his hack I rushed to one of the exits and started crawling in the bushes for 300m to not be spotted by the Cobras flying above. It was very difficult but I was so satisfied after completing it.

I’ve seen reports on Reddit that using Mortars or the HTI will fail the challenge. I wonder what else? Good god Ubisoft.

Yup.

Failed twice on insert trying to HALO due to explosion alert even though I jumped out over a KM away. Tried a HAHO from 5 km... Explosion alert.

Ok snuck around so that I could shoot the generator from 450m... Fail.

Ok snuck inside, when the attack started, armed with the M60 and the BFG, I tried to shoot the jammer. M60 wasn't getting the job done so hit it with the BFG. Fail. Said screw it, flipped the difficulty to Arcade, got Fisher out and into a helo from the hanger took off to the RP. Got to the RP chased by six helps, flipped difficulty back to extreme, did some mid air acrobatics as I dogded rockets and clawed for altitude. Made to extract and remembered why I hate this mission so much.
