After spending a TON of time in the editor, here are my observations
I just completed work on the longest track I've ever made (of any Trials game) and I can tell you some of the strange things I've encountered.
1. Saved tracks suddenly disappear. If my only save was suddenly deleted, it would make me so incredibly discouraged. I was told about this bug so I decided to save the track I was working on multiple times under different names. I'm so glad I did this because one morning when I went into the editor, I noticed my "Backup1" save was completely gone. Terrified of losing my progress, I started to save TWO backups. A couple of days later, BOTH of my backups were gone, leaving only the original. Another strange thing is that even though I had 3 separate saves of the exact same track, all 3 showed up as different difficulties in the "Manage Tracks" menu. One was beginner, one was easy and one was medium. I suspect the track save deletion bug is tied to the editor difficulty bug.
2. Certain objects seem to have a different draw distance than other objects. For example, I made a wooden sign with some letters on it. When I tested the track, the letters would appear to be floating in mid air. When I approached the sign, the wooden frame and stand faded in.Very distracting. I had to use different objects instead of the ones I had originally placed so that this did not occur.
3. A few times I would go into the editor and none of the trees in my track had any leaves! They were totally bare and they just never loaded. Other times, instead of loading the leaves normally, I would get these weird translucent squares. The only way to fix this was to quit out of the game entirely and re-launch it. Leaving the editor and returning did not work. I would encounter this roughly 10% of the time that I went into the editor and loaded my track.
4. Things would become disabled for no reason. I have a physics-based obstacle in my track that relies on a couple of physics joints. I went to test-drive the track after tweaking an obstacle that came much later only to discover that the joins had become disabled! I never did this, so I just re-enabled them.
5. If you have more than 2-3 of the same looping sound effect close to each other (like 'River 1' for example), some of them simply don't have any sound. If you go into the object properties, it shows they're enabled. If I disable and re-enable it, the sound will start to play but then one of the other nearby ones stops working.
That's all I can recall at the moment. If I remember/ encounter any more, I'll post it in this thread.
