Daily challenges - fun or no fun?

So, daily challenges - quick little (and most importantly optional) way to get small rewards. Every other game with dailies has 'em quick and simple - something you could do during normal gameplay without putting in stupendous amounts of extra effort - like walking to the local library, but taking longer route. In GRW, that walk includes - not being seen by another human beings while hopping on your left leg. Someone sees you or your right leg touches the ground, go back and start over. Good example of tedious challenge is from yesterday (12.3.2019 (not 'murican style date)) where you have to do mission 'Main stash' without beeing seen and only using explosives. Sure you can use sync shot to thin out the herd of guards, but if you personally kill someone with explosives, rest of them will get alerted. Kill someone with weapons or CQC and you have to start over.

It feels like Ubisoft understood the consept of daily challenges is to make them either the most difficult, most time consuming or just most grinding ever. They're not even that fun? Spending hours of your time to get rewards that are not necessarily even that good - is it really worth it?

Some of them are fun - but other days they seem to make them borderline impossible. I'm just dreading the day they decide to have a "Kill the Predator on extreme difficulty using the Jackdaw pistol without dying" challenge...

Oh god, I've just given them the idea to do just that now, haven't I...?

Personally I find them to be a good deal of fun. Some are frustrating, but most are quick and easy(relatively).

Sure killing the predator was hard. Archangel without dying was hard. Both on the same day was silly, but that is going to happen.

Unless I'm much mistaken I don't think anyone at UBI is currently designing new challenges. Having done this now for two years they started to feel familiar. Searching videos from YouTubers that used to make guides, I've become fairly certain that the daily challenges are now RNG assigned from a pool of past challenges. Some of which I've done more than once previously and in Tier mode at that(Main Stash without being detected and only using explosives) and so have a system for. Some of which I opted out of before and so they still give me issues.

I like that there are daily challenges, but don’t fully agree with the implementation. The constant requirement that they be played on extreme difficulty takes away many of the options for completing them. Unless one is prepared to spend hours restarting them.

It says something when the ones that I find I enjoy the most are those can be ‘cheated’. Any extraction based mission where I play on any difficulty and in any style I feel like and then upon collecting the subject can switch the difficulty to extreme, fly to the ‘deploy to’ safe house to activate the challenge and then to the ‘extract’ point for challenge completed.

I think there is a place for extreme challenges but don’t agree that all rewards should locked behind them. It excludes some and takes away much of the fun for others. I would very much like to see a rework of the challenge system.

I quite agree - it would be nice if there were "tiers" of rewards determined by the difficulty the challenge was completed at. - but I doubt this'll ever happen.

If they could be bothered it could be even more inventive than that. A ‘Tiered’ reward based on the difficulty and then bonuses for using various mission parameters.
For example: X amount of credits for using only shotguns or explosives, or not being seen or not dying, not using hud, not playing with teammates.

In this way it could allow players to play through multiple times, (assuming they started on a lower difficulty).

The idea being that a maximum amount of credits was available and if completed on a lower difficulty, stepping up the difficulty or parameters would earn the extra credits.

The challenges used to be some fun little objectives to complete while playing. That lasted until yet another feedback granted that now it's just a complete unrewarding chore to do.

I used to be someone who praised it and always implore people to do the challenges. Not anymore now.

I'm okay with it. All of the tasks I find doable (except those few that are for task force and for 3 members only) and fine till we have rewards for doing them. Reward also satisfying, so...
