    Epic store fail

Can one of the Ubisoft representatives provide the reasoning behind why, first off, when looking to buy the game for PC, the default option is through the Epic store (which for many new customers appeared to be the way to buy the game from the official source, ie; from Ubisoft), and second, why in the world would the editions with early access available through this default routing to Epic store, not get the same staggered region early access, but instead a global one? It contradicts the whole reason for having bought an early access edition for those wanting to play the game from early access launch in their region, in the first place.

What a travesty of customer trust and breach of ethical business practices!

I'd like to know more about this too.

Bought Gold on Epic, game is stuck on "Coming Soon" in UPlay and "Servers: Offline" in Epic.

In Australia, so I should have had this unlocked LAST NIGHT.

    Not true.
(which for many new customers appeared to be the way to buy the game from the official source, ie; from Ubisoft),
It was very clear from the beginning people could buy directly from Uplay, and that Epic was a reseller.

and second, why in the world would the editions with early access available through this default routing to Epic store,
Again, no matter how many times you repeat it, it is not going to make it true. Epic Store is not the "default".

That, you have to take with Epic. Epic is clear though: early release is the 12th, and players could start playing, and I quote, " up to three days in advance."

What a travesty of customer trust and breach of ethical business practices!
More of a travesty of shopping uninformed.

Yeah, someone clearly didn't read beyond the headlines:

    Stop your bull***t!

If your lies were the truth you wouldnt have thousands of people making the same mistake which was a very easy mistake to make.

Nowhere was it made plainly evident, except on reddit, that buying through Epic would lead to all this hassle.

Nowhere except on reddit do people find out that getting it through Epic isnt even the official means to buy.

The point is, you shouldnt have to go around and look this stuff up before buying.

Things should be clarified in bold long before you click the purchase button, especially since you apparently bought on the official site.

There is no way to argue around the fact that I and many others, bought an edition thats supposed to give you the same early access across the board.

How one person with the same edition and in the same region gets to play while another doesnt, is a ridiculous outcome.

The three gaming sites provided demonstrate otherwise.

More of a travesty of shopping uninformed.
When Ubisoft presented early access plans, they never qualified it as "Only when bought through Uplay", etc.

Any reasonable shopper, when presented with identical products (contents, perks, etc) with identical names "Gold", "Ultimate", etc, would expect them to function identically - unless specifically told otherwise.

If there was a big *** message on the Epic store, or from Ubisoft, saying the version purchased from Epic did NOT have the same early access times that would be completely fine.

But there wasn't. They were presented as the same product.

Well excuse me for not having trawled through unofficial sources to find out something that should have been clear from the official source.

The three gaming sites provided prove otherwise.
Nowhere in those articles does it mention a difference in early access dates/times.

And even it they DID, the product specs on the Epic store are identical to those on the UPlay store - so it's reasonable for people to expect they would function identically.

Image from the Epic store - "Play 3 days early"...
