    GTX 1080Ti
    core i7-7820x 3.6 GHz with 16 CPUs

The benchmark for the game shows 65% CPU and only 80% GPU utilisation.

I too have an issue with stuttering when certain actions take place, such as mobs spawning in, opening a door sometimes, entering a room etc. Do you notice the same, before and after throttling your gfx card?
I dont have any issue with stuttering and i admit running my graphics card at lower power isn't ideal and i'm looking in to why this is happening with EVGA support in case its an issue with my card and not related to most users division issues

I've no issues with other games but the display driver does for a split second stop responding there too, it just doesn't stutter or crash whereas both division games crash when it happens

instead of stutters it was a hard crash on some UI presses, some mob spawns, firing the gun etc, never hard crashed while idling around

Back again, tried a lot of different things. Nothing seems to work so far.

    I've tried DX12 on/off
    Fullscreen/Windowed/Windowed Fullscreen
Making Uplay, all 3 Division 2.exe files run as admin
All overlays off (including uplay FPS overlay)
Turning off windows notifications (which can cause the game to lose performance suddenly)

One thing I do want to test today is the drone. I've read in a few places now that the striker/healer drone can crash yourself and your team mates. I have been playing with a drone this entire time, so I'm going to test a bit today without it.

I do not know if it is pertinent, but when the game crashes with DX12 active, there is a warning in the event viewer about the Nvidia driver failing and recovering. When DX12 is turned off, there is no warning in the event viewer. I do not know what this means exactly; the crash itself could be killing the driver with DX12 active, or perhaps we're actually dealing with two (or more) totally different issues related to crashing.

    Windows 10
    i5 6600k 4.5ghz
    GTX1080 (driver v 419.35)
    16 GB RAM

Wow, there are quite a lot of you!
@rexbinary I did notice you had an Windows Error related to Game Bar on your MSINFO files, so I was going to suggest disabling that. I also noticed an error with your audio drivers, and recommend a clean install.

@valathe Your PC specs appear to meet the minimum requirements. Have you done these PC steps? We would appreciate a bit more information when reporting performance issues.

@Rathys Please note that your CPU meets the minimum requirements, but does not quite meet the recommended for 60 FPS at 1080p. We can look further into helping you improve your performance if you provided your pastebin MSINFO/dxdiag files or submitted them over a ticket and provided your ticket number.

FOR ANYONE ELSE HAVING PERFORMANCE ISSUES WITH TD2: Please refer to this post on how to report technical issues like this. Please specifically list what your PC specs are, and provide either a ticket number or a pastebin link with your MSINFO and dxdiag files. I cannot assist you unless I have that information, assuming you've already done the basic PC steps we've suggested numerous times. Thank you!

Thanks for responding. I'm not too worried about performance at the moment, although I disagree with your statement. Outside I'm usually around 70-80FPS, and indoors usually always above 100FPS, capped at 120. I do drop below 60FPS sometimes outside if there's a lot stuff exploding and dust/fog all over, but I can handle that. I found that turning down the fog and turing down some other settings a little has helped smooth it out. Also, being able to use DX12 wold improve performance quite a bit, but that's currently 100% causing crashes with the Nvidia driver. I don't expect to run at max FPS all the time with a computer that is a few years old now, so I'm not too worried about that.

However, what I'm not alright with is the crashing. I've played for a while now (2 hours+) without a single crash, which is my longest stretch so far. I was reading in other places that the drone skill was causing crashes, so I stopped using it. Could just be coincidence, but I'm hoping that we've narrowed it down. Although I do believe this issue is separate from the DX12 crash, and possibly others.

Again, thanks for keeping an eye on the crashing threads. I hope you guys can figure it out soon.

I downgraded to 419.17 and the game keeps crashing. I played it from release 2 Days without any issue. Now it keeps crashing by the start process (Black Screen). This bug reminds me on the first game, same happend there to.

I tried the fix suggested by Soundingcreepy earlier this thread about setting windows in focus mode and turning off all other applications, and at first it seems like it did the trick. Me and the wife played probably 4-5 hours without any crashes, but in the evening we both started crashing again. I do hope this gets solved before too long.

Same thing for me. Every time I switch something and get a little more time without crashing, I start crashing shortly after. I'm not sure if there's anything we'll be able to do on our end. Obviously the game has some bugs. I've never put so much effort into trying to play a game before; hopefully they'll get it figured out soon.

Edit: It's also worth noting that I've read some posts here and on reddit that the drone skills are causing crashing in groups. Usually the person using the drone is fine, but other people in the group can crash as a result. I think this is a separate bug from whatever is happening here, but it's worth looking into if you're playing a lot of co-op.
