I've done all that. I've provided VERY detailed steps on everything I've done on multiple computers and OS's. Didn't have these issues in Beta.Originally Posted by ubi--unicorn Go to original post

I'm also having frequent, random crashes to desktop with gameplay duration mostly ranging from less than 5 min to an hour or so.
I have done the recommended troubleshooting with no effect.
No error codes, all crashes to desktop except for 2 lockups requiring hard resets.
Same behavior with Nvidia 418.91, 419.17 and 419.35 drivers and with DX11 and DX12.
My PC:
Win10 64
i5-6600k
GTX 1070
Bummer.... great game otherwise!
I'll put my name into the mix, doesn't seem to be quite as bad as some of you, but I have gotten a driver error. (was not temps that caused the crash/recover, not OC and MSI AB was reporting max of 64c)
Was able to submit a crash report.
419.35
RTX 2060
i5 6500
Win 10 64bit
(Ive been leaving DX12 on as it seems to be better FPS wise.)
As stated above done all the tips given in the support and no help. Game hangs but there is still audio. When i restart i get a message on the screen just before saying Game Security Violation Detected #000001.

Can't get MSInfo on pastebin, too big apparently.
Also experiencing crash to desktop within minutes of playing the game. This was not an issue during open beta. I have tried several different nvidia drivers. Rolled them back looked promesing at first, but soon the game started crashing again.

Well, back again. I played for about 1.5 hours last night before I crashed, after turning DX12 off. Today I crashed twice in the same amount of time. It looks like that it does crash less often with DX12 off, but it still does crash.
Some things that happen to me when it crashes:
1) Game turns from fullscreen to windowed mode
2) Stutters really bad for a second or two
3) Game closes itself, with no error (as if I Just hit alt+F4)
4) When I restart the game, the game starts in Windowed mode
I don't know if the game auto-switching into Windowed mode is crashing the game, or if something in the crash is forcing windowed mode and actually saving it as my setting so that I have to change it upon re-entering the game. I would like to know if other people's crashing experience is similar, and if the fullscreen/windowed mode setting has something to do with it in addition to the DX12 setting. I've also heard running multiple monitors can cause crashing, so I might experiment with that today as well.

Monitor 2 - 1440p 60fps
As Rathys, When I do eventually crash this is how it crashes. Strange how it goes into windowed mode first.1) Game turns from fullscreen to windowed mode
2) Stutters really bad for a second or two
3) Game closes itself, with no error (as if I Just hit alt+F4)
4) When I restart the game, the game starts in Windowed mode

ah ha! I have just remembered I had a similar issue with another game that was doing this with Riva Tuner enabled. I'm sure it it was another Ubisoft game. May have been one of the recent AC games. Time for testing it with this turned off...
