The bug is getting worse. Now when I fast travel, after loading in, my character's helmet is all odd shaped and it snaps to normal. I see no reason to unload player textures as they are always needed. With how widespread this is it really makes one wonder why management let this get through? I'm guessing it's going to be a difficult fix, aka overhaul the entire texture system for Snow Drop and they didn't want to delay the game. Ubisoft needs to formally address this, give us an answer of more than we're looking into it. This is not listed as a known issue. Why?
This issue is really extremely noticeable and it's a really bad look for the game. Especially in the campus, the big tree in the center. The leaf textures / LODs take multiple seconds to load, and it looks like a PS2 model the whole time. Please recognize this as a known issue. Terrible texture streaming like this in a modern game on release is really unacceptable.
This sound familiar, a new kind of "We hear you". Only words, still not present in the bug overview. No information on work to be done. And we are playing a great game with graphics from 2001. Play now and rerun when fixed for a totally new experience or wait till they fix it. Pitty.....
I imagine they are aware of the issue (there have been several responses from Ubi employees on this thread), but that the issue currently does not have priority. I'm just speculating, but this texture loading might be a deeply-rooted problem within the rendering engine, which is usually quite difficult to debug and fix. And on the other hand, they are still dealing with some game-breaking bugs as well (let's be honest, slow texture loading is annoying but not game-breaking). Although I do imagine they have a separate team of rendering engineers...Originally Posted by joonas0 Go to original post
Either way I would also like to see this issue become slightly more acknowledged (it is happening for ALL console users, that is a massive share of your playerbase Ubisoft) and at least be informed about where it is on their list of priorities.
I totally agree, but although is not a game-breaking bug, it is, with out any question, a complete immersion killer.
Also, if you add up all the things you spent money (4k tv, ps pro + the game) you end up with a system so expensive just to play a game with "ps2 graphics". Not a really good investment, to be honest.
It's not game breaking but it's annoying as f*ck.It's been getting worse the last couple of days and it's visible everywhere on the map, but the worst is at the settlements.Every now and then I stop to check how many seconds it will take to load the textures on the ground, signs and trees and it just gets me frustrated. I hope they have a fix for this
