    The answer is basically this:

Every Trials Player has to climb that skill wall over and over again. You regularly will reach a point where just can't progress. Keep trying and you will get better, everytime. MIK's tip is pure gold. That's what i did when i reached those «Walls» in Fusion. I went back to the other tracks and tried to speedrun them. You will develope reflexes and learn so much about the Bikes and the Physics that your Extreme Skills will improve as well.

When you go back to the extremes I suggest looking at replays of people a little better than you and watch how they approach each obstacle. Back in Evo I learnt to zero fault extremes by watching replays, observing the techniques used and repeatedly grinding the obstacles I had trouble with until i could do them consistantly. After some time of improving I was able to go back and speed run them and take shortcuts that used to be unthinkable/impossible for me.

Go back and spend some time getting platinum on tracks and have some fun on tracks that are at your skill level, when you get good at the easier stuff you learn a lot of bike control without even realising it, then when you move up to those harder tracks you’ll find that you’re passing those obstacles that we’re p*ssing you off before with ease. That was how I learned back on HD.

Or just spend some time doing the quite excellent tutorials. You said you can’t get high grades on them, but if you’re patient and spend some time getting a good grade then it’ll definitely teach you how to do the stuff you’re struggling with.

And another Tip: Try to safe EVERY fault. By recovering you'll learn alot about the bikes physics as well.
