While him providing shields is very annoying, his level 1 version is pretty fair since it consumes his health to do so.
His level 4 version seems like a different and possibly better version of Phalanx although I'm not sure just how much shield it offers or for how long. Therefore I can't fully comment.
Him stripping shields from people, I agree is far too good. He is supposed to be a good 1vs4 character, not a ganking character. So yeah I agree that one needs looking at. Even if it stays the same except it cannot remove revenge shields.
Lvl 1 shield has a cd that is waaaaaay too short, and the health you sacrifice for it is neglectable. I also don't agree with the fact that you can shield through walls, I think line of sight should be required.Originally Posted by Kryltic Go to original post
LvL 3 is totally ******ed, yes
Lvl 4 offers full health shield and refreshes it every few seconds, 3 or 4 times total can't remember. And yes, totally a better version of phalanx as long as you use it in a teamfight, which should not be hard to do. It makes anyone around you immortal (save from ledging and jumb attacks) for the whole duration. With 4 BP its...interesting to say the least
I've used BP a lot and I don't think his level 3 and 4 unique feats are his best options at those levels. Oath Breaker really only works once per match due to the long cooldown and if you are good at ganking, you'll kill the opposing hero without it anyway. His level 4 shield also has a huge cooldown and only lasts for 10 sec total. For level 3 and 4, his best options are Tough as Nails and Morale Booster imo. However, if they nerf his level 3 and level 4 unique feats, it won't hurt me any because I don't even like them.
I'd have to disagree. Sinister shield saves you one extra hit. Nice, but not really life changing. Not like Tiandi who can use a combination of 3 of his feats to basically never die if played well.
Removing a person's shield from revenge is a strong effect. But it's on a cooldown of 2 minutes. So you rarely get to use it. And if you're actually playing with coordination it's entirely not needed because revenge is so easy to bait out and play around. You barely shave any time off with an optimal gank using this feat.
Being able to heal on demand with bullwark is his best specific feat. But is still no where near as strong as something like soothing mist. (well was, it rightfully got nerfed.) And his level 4 which I can never remember the name of is pretty bad. It has short range and a short duration. It might save someone from being mindlessly shredded to death by the whole enemy team. But that's stupidly situational. Morale booster is by far the better pick. Not just for BP but for his team. It enables stupid high damage ganks.
His optimal setup involves tough as nails, heal in bullwark, and morale booster. His 1 can really be whatever you want it to be. None are stand out enough to be a clear pick.
His feats aren't nearly as broken as many claim them to be.
Providing shields to his allies is nice and can sometimes save peoples lives, but it has a limited range and costs health to use. Nerf any part of it and it'll become useless
I think most people would agree that his level 2 healing feat is balanced. It takes forever to get back to full health, and it's his only healing feat since he doesn't have access to second wind. It also means that throwing out random gb's may catch him trying to heal
Oathbreaker is undoubtedly annoying as hell, but is it really broken? Most of the time people lose ganks as long as the group is smart about how they're fighting, the feat just makes it quicker to deal with. The competitive community actually recommends using tough as nails instead, as it makes a more meaningful difference. I know it's frustrating when it happens, but I'd argue that it's more frustrating losing a 1v1 to an orochi because of a cheap kunai, or being ledged by a Viking because you stepped in a bear trap. Also the feat has a long cooldown, I've never been able to use it more than twice in a single game
His 4th level feat looks to be a better version of phalanx at a first glance, but Ubi made it with balance in mind. Whereas phalanx provides a shield to the entire team no matter where they are, you need to be near the BP to gain his shield, and I'm pretty sure the duration is shorter as well. The competitive community suggests using the 4th level feat that increases the damage of you and your allies (I forget the name)
Most feats feel cheap when used effectively. BP's feats are no exception, but they aren't the most powerful
i disagree. his shields for allies are only up for a limited time and the range is so small i question its usefulness. you cant hate on that and be fine with the centurion and jj shield feats. and the stripping someone of their revenge shield isn't all that bad considering the cooldown for it, you have to be selective in its use. i'd say his feats are well thought out and balanced compared to the rest of the roster.Originally Posted by The_Wanderer_I Go to original post
