    This game is absolutely broken

I spent 30 or so minutes playing breach on PC, and maybe an hour doing the same on PS4, after completing training on both, and this game just seems broken...

it's near impossible to block, dodge, or parry effectively, because light attacks are so fast, there's virtually no reaction time, even with the stance widget flashing at you. Add the fact that these attacks are almost *always* followed up by an unblockable, EVERY hit makes you stagger, and you get a recipe for rage quitting.

This is made worse by minor characters constantly stabbing you in the back with pikes that you can't properly dodge, anywhere up to 4 bots/players ganging up on you, hitting from different directions (impossible to even move), and not knowing which way is up, because camera angles put other characters RIGHT in the way of your view.

On the PC version, I get only a slightly better reaction time, but unless I'm already in the right stance, the first 1-2 light attacks always always land, no matter how fast I move.

As well, i could almost swear that the bots are reading button/key presses, thereby increasing their reaction times, and effectiveness against players. This is a common problem I've seen in a LOT of various fighting games that drastically lowers playability.

There seems to be zero sane character balancing across the various classes, with light characters hitting as hard, or harder than heavy characters that are supposed to do/take big damage, but seemingly don't.

Pike men... OMG! The pike men! These guys are ruination! I can be in a 1-on-1, and winning, then suddenly a crowd of pike men shows up, and I'm dead just when the bad guy has a sliver of life left, or pike men on my side will show up, and steal the kill from me. I get that war is horrible, but really? Where's the satisfaction in this?

In all honesty, with the condition of this game, and the frustration that it provides, I just can't understand how it could be at all popular. I play to have fun, not get frustrated. to me, this game is just unplayable.

that is why i dont play Breach, it is far too random. Dom with its minions is already bad enough for me.
Breach is usually just a ******** in the healingroom anyway, it's not very interactive or exciting. stick to Dominion and Duels.

Tribute would have been a good choice if people hadn't abandoned it. Dominion is a game about covering bases, but people usually just zerg all to the same place. that's exactly how Tribute should be played yet somehow people didn't like it.
guess we just dont have the people to populate all these modes.

i completely agree that the random interrupts and the added delay to your dodges when changing guard is frustrating beyond belief. i have uninstalled this game so many times i've lost count yet i keep coming back to it. i WANT it to be good, but the feeling of inconsistency always makes me ragequit.
how are you supposed to be happy about winning when you know you did only because the opponent have no idea they shouldn't be swapping guardstances after getting hit. i find it hard not to do it even With that knowledge.
and losing because you got hit randomly when you were about to parry that unblockable? minions might aswell be salt dispensers

i love and hate this game

Breach is BORING, because 90% of the time the match is done in the first 5 minutes, and you must to wait about 25-30 minutes. Thats why I dont play that mode anymore.

I've played some duels as well, and some of the story mode. The problem with blocking, parrying, and dodging is present in all modes that I've played. Character balancing issues are also present in all modes I've played, and so it the button/key press reading issue.

I also tend to dislike games that are PvP oriented, and this one appears to be heavily so. This game just has no appeal for me, neither do MANY online only, or PvP oriented games. I'm a big fan of single player, or LAN multiplayer games. (LAN, because the risk of random players being griefers, or abusing exploits/cheats to win is VERY HIGH)

I used to play games such as World of Warcraft, Rift, and Forsaken World, but I don't even play those anymore. Too many game devs are turning to this online/service based multiplayer setup, and leaving us single player gamers behind.

I got this game for free (as a digital download) on both platforms, from promotions, but if I had paid for it, I'd be returning it for a refund. It's highly unlikely I'll play again.

As far as Breach goes, try PvAI with a character you're most comfortable with and go up two Reputations. Another tip would be to complete the hero trials and hero tactics to get to better grips with the mechanics, if you haven't done so already.

I wouldn't say the game is broken but it isn't very accessable to new players and it does have a long way to go in general.

it's kinda weird to expect a good singleplayer experience from a game which is all about fighting other people.

anyways, standard singleplayer games usually dont last very long. paying 60 euros for a 5h campaign is a big reason i stay away from singleplayer games. you're probably better off with sandbox types or slowmoving strategy.

These problems are using PvAI (aka PvE), even with bots set as low as lvl 1. I've done the hero trials, which I called training (Law Bringer at the end killed me 10x in a row, before a LUCKY shot allowed me to kill him), and some tactics, It's how I learned the controls, but didn't improve playability for me at all.

@Soldier_of_Dawn - You say not very accessible to new players, but one of my roommates has played it for a good amount of time, (not a new player), and has many of the same complaints.

I got into this thinking it was something akin to Dynasty Warriors, which is a decent series of games. After actually playing, and seeing the problems, and realizing it wasn't anywhere near what was expected, appeal went from very high to none.

A part of the problem is that there needs to be a bigger window for reaction time. This adjustment alone would likely improve playability immensely.

@pimmas01 - There are some PvP oriented games that have decent single player experiences... Battlefront II for PS4 is a good example. Nice campaign, with a rich story, and split screen multiplayer (Would've preferred LAN games over split screen, but oh well). It also has SP arcade modes.

Also single player games RARELY require internet access just to play, so if I've purchased an online only game, and I lose net access for any reason... bye bye game play. For Honor definitely has this problem.

I don't like PvP (Player vs Player) games, because other players tend to be HORRIBLE. I've had next to zero good experiences with PvP. I don't even play BattleFront II online anymore.

If you are sticking with PVE in dominion, I can't imagine you being too frustrated with block, dodge, and parry. I haven't been playing that long, but I am rep108 overall now and haven't ever lost in a pve dominion match. And if you don't like playing with other people at all, play pve with matchmaking off and you will be the only player in the match.

I have not played dominion. I've played duels, trials (training), brawl, and breach. With the exception of having my roommate on my team, (breach, brawl), or against me (duels), I've always played completely alone.
