FC 2/3/4 no longer work with new hardware

fails to launch with new hardware
9960x 2x 2080ti's win10pro-64, have tried every reinstall i could think of, msvc, dxd, nvidia drivers latest and back level.. plus pulling the boot drive out of a system where the game is working and moving it to a new system and game still won't launch. no issues at all with far cry 5/primal. support says i have to many cpu cores.. seems to only affect far cry 2/3/4. have verified about 40 others games and all work fine

    reply from ubisoft support..
I do apologize. At this point there's no further support we can provide to help get the games running on your computer .You'll need to either look into running it on a computer with fewer CPU cores and RAM to see if that helps or check the forums for other players with a similar setup to see if they were successful in finding a way to get it to work. You can also keep an eye on our website and forums in general for any updates regarding hardware compatibility.

I apologize again for the inconvenience.

    Best regards,
    Ubisoft Support

All I can say is my 8c/16t Ryzen is working fine with FC3/4 but your CPU is double that

Have verified the game supports a max of 16 logical cpus. Several ways to fix this, run msconfig and set your number of cpus to 8 with hyperthreading enabled or disable hyperthread in bios. When you bring up task manager and click the performance tab your logical processors should be <= 16

you do realize how old these games are?? there won't be any support or bug fixes for them now.. and they were made well before CPU's has so many threads..
you need an older PC or an Intel with no more than 8 threads/cores for them only it sounds like to me.
