Is it OK if I play farcry new dawn before farcry 5?

I'm asking because the story in New dawn seems to be many years after that in Farcry 5.

No. I mean you can, but you will miss so much content...

You're better off playing 5 first to see what led to the events that resulted in New Dawn, and also because you'll be saving the better game for last that way. FC5 is a much worse game than ND on many fronts. Except for maybe Clutch Nixon events, but even those were not liked by many due to some finding the plane and wingsuit too hard to fly through hoops.

Def play FC5 first. It's probably discounted now anyway.

You don't have to play FC5 before New Dawn, but it will help you understand the story if you play FC5 first.

You really should play FC5 first. The game is awesome. Then when you play New Dawn you will recognize characters, understand the story line more, etc.

I definitely would...and did..play Far Cry 5 before playing New Dawn.
In my opinion, you will miss too much of the FC5 story and character development by playing New Dawn first
